Would a "modern" drive train fit? 🇺🇸👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸
1. Are they still available and 2. Can I get it licensed in Florida
HERST?????????????????????? Wow.
How the hell to you misspell HURST?
That is one of the most unbalanced engines in the world. Hope you have good engine mounts!
I guess I missed the kitchen sink location. But that is an excellent way to show off so many modifications. 👍👍
How much does this cost with an engine and all other needed parts?
That field modifcation was done by the I&R platoon, it was one of the only vehicles that they had to fight with due to there poor funding.
If a person wanted this kit, and didn't have an original drivetrain. What alternative engine would work and look good in the engine compartment?
They advertised these for sale in the back of comic books and popular mechanics in the 50s and 60s.
You can buy at MD Juan company in the Philippines
Beautiful
Please share the price a crate
Beautiful
No wire cutter across front of jeep to prevent gi. From getting cut in head by wires strung across road
How can I get one, will you let me know.
Back in 1974 I bought a Willys 1952 M38. Engine sounded like a sewing machine but it ate gas. Sold it about 10 years later. Terrible brakes. Neat vehicle though.
Новодел😂
That’s cool to see. I still have my first Jeep 98 Wrangler Sport 4.0 5 speed. It’s a sweet Jeep but the original would be a thrill to own and drive.
i drilled a 1/16 hole in my thermostat so that if it does fail closed there will still be some circulation...my F-head was cracked in the exact same location...i finally put a pin kit in it and got rid of it..the problem with that crack is that you may not get full torque on the head bolt when the engine heats up.
Someone should make axles, gearbox and engine and sell them to anyone who buys the body and bits. Wallop! A complete Willys.
How much does this cost?. Can you get a used US mail jeep and use the frame and drive line? How wold mount the steering box snd steering wheel?
Are they still available
Anyone know who this is an how to get n contact with him hav questions about his build
I know of one in1960s Southern Cal. that some one had and built and had a problem in registration after it was drove it in the town i was in and he told of the total cost and it did not look to be worth the time to get and build Interesting that you call this a story with questions Interesting Video
I replaced a carter y carb with this universal Carb. I cannot find where to connect the throttle cable on this model. Any help would be appreciated. I'm sure I'm overlooking something.
I could use one plus the trailer they used to have to haul stuff.
I have a 48 made by ford.
Very cool
Like to get n touch with this gentleman
you could drive the jeep and live in the box.
At the end of the war my fathers cargo ship dumped a whole load of crated jeeps spare parts and new cargo trucks into the ocean off the coast of Okinawa to take on troops to ferry back to Hawaii to return to the US.
Like to contact this fellow
If there is no drive train it's not a jeep in a crate, but a create of miscellaneous jeep body parts
I can verify that jeeps were sold after the war, at least on Mare Island Naval Shipyard in California, in San Francisco Bay, across from Vallejo. It was basically a submarine base . I was ten years old. My Dad had been in the subs in the pacific campaign. I saw a huge, half-block stack of Jeeps, maybe six high, and heard that they were on sale for 25 dollars each. I wanted one but i was a kid.
🎉🎉
What is the point of it having wheels and tires if it doesn’t have axles? The chances of me using something stock with a stock bolt pattern is minimal.
how many months from factory of M.D. juan in the Philippines to U.S?
❤❤❤
This has nothing to do with the kits but i once saw a demonstration of 6 members of the army roll out a running jeep, disassemble it with nothing but hand tools, wheels, rear end, trans and motor, then put it back together and drive off in 22 minutes. Kinda impressive and shows how functional minimalist engineering can be.
Starting a 72 rebuild very soon, will need parts.
You're (respectfully) incorrect that jeep kits were not for sale. I knew people in the 70s who ordered them, the latest in my experience, was in 1978. Friend of mine (we were cops) bought a kit for $500 and assembled it. He drove it to work every day. He told me where to order and I would have but I could never raise that much money.
I would love to get one and put in a 283 Chevy and a overdrive.
What's the price of that kit ?
How much?
How much money does it cost?
13 k with no drivetrain
What would it cost with drive train and paint………complete?
@@JohnKleiman To the best of my knowledge they do not offer truly complete units for shipment to the U.S. They are a Phillipino company that mostly make replacement parts to help restorers around the world. And I don't believe they offer any engines for shipment. But I could be wrong. th-cam.com/video/072kUO-5pEU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0gD15j6zSjDQm2_8

I have a 1960s Jeepstar Roadster, based on a Ford/Whilly WW2 jeep
He says its an urban myth that you could buy them after the war but he thinks that never happened.. He is wrong. Army surplus stores did have and sell them. I saw an ad from 1955 showing the "Jeep in a crate" for $625. And it was complete with drivetrain. Still partially disassembled for shipping but ready to roll after assembly.
Prove it
@jeepsterman8823 Why bother. Not worth my time. I stated a fact from my own experience so take it at face value or not.
@jeepsterman8823 I tried to respond twice about proof and included 2 hot links for you to click on but they appeared for only a moment then disappeared. one was an ad from an old comic book and the other was from a military jeep collectors blog titled "Jeeps in a crate do exist" That one had pictures of warehouses full of them. Past and present. But as I said youtube deleted them shortly after I posted them. I don't know why.
Dad had a Jeepster convertible in the 60s. It was yellow
All that is needed is a Mohendra diesel engin, a T-86 Tranny and some axles LOL
