TL NOTES: Had a bit of trouble with this tl mostly because this song's has really short sentences within its lyrics, however most of these plus their context get... a lot more wordy in english than spanish... yes, "gold" goes before "glitter" in the original, to place emphasis on it rather than "glitter". I also struggled with the "lindo" part because it means "pretty", but i wanted to get across that Alex is referring to a man; but handsome is just, too different from being pretty so i'm relying that here instead heh. And finally, the "que todo es todo, fuimos" part was THE WORST because i can't quite grasp what it means? re: the "that everything is everything" part; "fuimos" lit. means "[we] went" but here in chile you can use it to say that something is over (mainly due to outside forces) or is ruined. But considering the context, it might have to do with "being" (and the cease of said existence). 🤓

I tried to keep the tone and poetic language of the original when translating the lyrics, so it's not a word by word translation (especially the title lmao) but its more accurate than the one going around google. However i had problems with "a terminar", since i couldnt decipher if its to end a situation or to break up, but considering the one (1) interview about the lyrics it has a 90% chance to refer to a situation (the pandemic and our political landscape at the time) :)

ive watched this video a lot of times, and i gotta say that i love love love the song and i also love them!! i love their dynamic and how tragic it is, both the only peaceful people in a war filled with violence. I love what they bring to ren too, as friends... or more...

TL NOTES: Okay this was kinda tricky because yes, the White diva-Pale Lady is the moon (Javiera loves to use metaphors and what's a more in your face lesbian symbol than the moon?); but Chico Blanco makes a word play on high (the moon is up in space) and high on drugs. The "properly prepared to take your sensuality" line was also a pain, because the lyrics talk about mustering up the courage to not chicken out in front of the woman she's pursuing so it could be that Javiera is ready to not fuck it up because of how hot this mysterious lady is or it could just. refer to them eventually hitting it off lmao. Sooo i wasn't sure whether to write "take" or "receive"; interpretation vs accuracy, and that's another whole gay joke. ANYWAY. "Prende diva del ambiente" was the biggest problem. "Prende" was hard to translate because here in Chile it usually means that something livens up-catches on (like a party or the idea of doing something); but it can also mean that someone got excited and/or turned on. Same with "ambiente", it might be referring to the inside of a club in the song; or the general atmosphere that the light of the moon creates at nightime. And ambient is also used for club music so. yeah. I wasn't really sure if Javiera Mena was refering to the moon setting the mood for the night, OR whether the woman she's wooing is fucking it up at the dancefloor :)
