Hi it's dave
I caught the travel bug 30 yrs ago when taking long trips which were rare, in the days of no internet, film 35mm camera, no google map, black mkt currency exchange, traveller's cheques.. Very different times. Very few digital media of past travels given the times. I've slowly been experimenting with youtube and a website to get with the times. Places around the world have changed and those sleepy undiscovered places are now full blown tourist nightmares. Few examples are like koh phi phi in thailand, boracay in philippines, and greece. Gems are hard to find now with social media, but i'm sure they still exist. Enjoy my videos and come visit my website to read about my travels around the world pre digital era

RIO de JANEIRO PARK LAGUE - Palace & Hiking & Wildlife #brazil
Did you know you could hike up to Cristo de Redimeer? Yes, start at Park Lague and the National Park here. This park is near Botanical Gardens. There are other nice short trails, museum, and the famous Palace, now a restaurant and caves too. Definitely worth a few hrs here. Close to Coppacobana (25 Real Uber ride)

Some parts look scary.
Those are Western European prices.
pretty much. But wine is cheaper and you can get cheaper prices on other items at bigger supermkts. Remember their avg salary is $500 US a month

How are people dealing with price increases… I know the salaries are low, I don’t understand why I didn’t see widespread poverty… at least not visibly. I drove almost 2000km on my last trip and there wasn’t anything that made me think “economic crisis”
Blue rate has declined even more since sept. Was 1300 peso to dollar now only 1100. Poverty is in outside tourist area like near ARP airport. Like shack and high concentration of shabby apt buildings. Yeah from downtown you dont see poverty. Only european loke flats where wealthier live.
Price keep going up each yr. Worse now is you get less peso fo us cash so more exp for tourists

i still use the gopro 8. if i ever upgrade it will be years years later. the 8 is all I need for what I use it for. If anyone does want to upgrade I suggest 12 or wait for 13. Anything lower than the 12 will lag because they didn't upgrade the processing speed until the 12th. but on a budget the 8 is PERFECT! I use mine with a Telesin Neck mount n keeps my hands free n 80% of the time ppl don't even know I'm wearing or using a gopro which helps keep ppl from being like omg a camera. So when I go around recording on my walks or in a store, most don't see it around my neck and less likely to be camera shy. plus the 8 does not have have a playing video on the front like the newer models do.

Yes there are lots of good wines for 2 to$4 us. Dirt cheap compared to high taxed alcohol in canada where wines are usually $10 to 15 usd

Wong supermarket is by no means owned by chinese people, It was opened by a chinese descendant peruvian family in the 80's but sold to a chilean and international group in the 2,000's. It is one of the best supermarket stores in the world for the quality of products and customer service,
