I love these youth orchestras that more than rise othe occasion.
When I was in the choir program at Lake Park during my senior year we also sang this song at our final concert in the spring of 2011. Knowing it was the final performance with my classmates before graduation made it even that much more special. A fun memory that'll last forever.
Bruh, the drummer sucks
You are not very nice. It's time to be kinder to other people. And just so you know the drummer is now 26 years old? Why are you wasting your time criticizing an old junior high band video.
This was during my junior year at Lake Park. I'm in the trumpet section.
Great job Lake Park High School jazz band, and esp David Polk. Does anyone have any idea where I might buy sheet music (piano, sax, flute, violin) for this piece? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Written by Lalo Schifrin, popularized by Stan Getz. It was on an album call "Children of the World" if any of that helps.
I miss these days even, still! Marc Cash was a wonderful teacher!!
Ok...
Great!!!
bruh
First
Woah a 12 years old video :O
Woah a 15 years old video :O
I remember singing this with my middle school choir back in 7th grade. It's probably the Winter/Christmas piece I favorite the highest, and it's also the most memorable for me. I remember my part by heart. Coming back here brings back memories of my entire middle school singing career. Some of the very best years I've ever seen so far
I think the bass clarinetist got off beat?
cadence?
I played this in my high school band
Why da hell is there 0 baritone/euphoniums! There the most important part of this entire peice!
My school is doing rhythm machine too
they all look like they want to be not living
THIS IS AMAZING OMG
Santa Rosa HS TX killed this piece in 1992.
I never understood this song.....it sounds like it was written for a TV show by David Rose.....why it is a junior band standard still baffles me.
I miss this ❤
I'm playing this fory concert (Im and alto sax.)
What is the tempo
He sounds dead but this vid was helpful
Honestly, there's a reason this piece is so difficult. There were several places that the band wasn't together. Hope that doesn't happen to us at contest with this piece.
I think it's only difficult for clarinets and flutes. My part is one of the hard ones. I'm a baritone.
Not bad! Not bad at all! :)
Goosebumps!
Didn't the winds learn this?
we played this sabre dance, thunder an blazes, flutopia, a disney spectacular and one other i forgot for 8 th grade concers
I'm not trying to spread hate but rather give constructive criticism as a fellow drummer A group of drummers sound best when it sounds like one giant drum. However, your drum line lacks this effect. To fix it I would say to start slow with a metronome and make sure they are all together. Progressively raise the metronome speed when they are together. Do this at every practice and I promise that it will sound so much better! I hope my advice is somewhat helpful to you. Best of luck ~Amanda
Good job. Really good
Nice job guys..enjoyed the performance of "Summer Poem"...you are all graduated now...but this was nice..Best wishes !!
Wow! Is very beautiful! 💎💕💓💘

I first heard a recording of this on vinyl from the 1968 South Carolina All-State bands and the late Claude T. Smith was the clinician conducting it.
Thanks! The link to the graph website is: nces.ed.gov/nceskids/createagraph. I found it by searching create a graph on google. It was the top result. :) :) :) :)
G'damn I love how a good bass clarinet sounds! Great job to each of these performers though.
There is another piece called Dramatic Essay also written by Elliot Del Borgo... but I cannot find it on youtube. I played Dramatic Essay for band in 6th grade
