    Very nice build, is the supply just a crc ? I build a pearl 3 also, you can see it under my profile, i have tried different Power Supplys, all dual mono, first the classis crc, then shunt regulator, the jung regulator and the sigma22 from ti kan, to be honest the difference was close to not detectable, but the shunt regulator was my favourite

    I am interested in building these speakers but need the crossover values for all capacitors, inductors and resistors. Are you willing to share this data with me? I would prefer to buy my own components and not buy from Jentzen.

  • @graham8316
    @graham8316 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I see in one part you have the volume board hooked up with serial data, and then in another part with parallel. Did you try the autorfomer board with shift registers or io expanders and find it to be too noisy, or vice versa?

    • @diyaudioelectronicsprojects
      @diyaudioelectronicsprojects 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well spotted! Yes, initially I tried with IO Expanders underneath autoformers board and later I moved them to the controller board. I haven't noticed any difference in terms of sound quality.

    • @graham8316
      @graham8316 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@diyaudioelectronicsprojects Okay, I'm building ~ the same thing as this and was pulling hairs out on this decision. I figured that an io expander would only make noise when I was switching input or volume, in which case it doesn't matter. Why did you choose to switch away from the io expanders? Why did you choose to not switch the input to get some gain?

    • @diyaudioelectronicsprojects
      @diyaudioelectronicsprojects 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@graham8316 My idea was to have everything on the controller board so don't need to touch the autotransformers board in case I want to change something in future. As it is now autotransformers could be controlled even by a mechanical switch. I don't need any gain, already have too much gain in the system.

    • @graham8316

      @@diyaudioelectronicsprojects Very good! I have built the F6 and really like it. I built (onto a test board) the BA-3 preamp but enjoy a BOSOZ, the BA2018 and the Korg Nutube B1 a lot better so I thought I would populate an outboard board for the BA-3 linestage and see if I like it better that way. Thank you for the insight. I have thought of doing the M2 clone or maybe one of Zen Mod's variations of the different amps. He has some neat stuff. Do you know the output of the BA. The XA25 looks especially interesting. I saw your preamp build. It looks like you have two power supplies in the power supply chassis then a regulator in the linestage chassis. Looks interesting. Are you still using the linestage as a preamp?

    • @diyaudioelectronicsprojects
      @diyaudioelectronicsprojects 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I highly recommend M2 - it is a great amp. Not the best in terms of transparency or precision, but very organic, rich, exciting and easy to listen to. I haven't built any Zen Mods amps, but I am sure they are very good too. In future I plan to build the one with Tokin VFETs. My BA-3 front end has been sold long time ago. At the time there were power supplies for BA-3, Pearl II and Technics SL-1200 in one chassis. Regulator should be close to the main circuit, so I put it in the same chassis as the line stage.
