Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens (pronounce HEE-wit) is the former estate of Franklin "F.A." Seiberling and his family. F.A. and his brother, C.W. co-founded the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. The Seiberlings lived at Stan Hywet from 1915-1955.

Stan Hywet became a public museum in 1957. The estate is open for tours Tues.-Sun. from April 1- Dec. 30. Closed Mondays and Jan.-March.

What is the theme for the 2024 Deck the Hall?
I've toured the mansion several times. I was able to sit at F.A. desk in his office in the mansion. The pool inside is super cool and the gardens outback rival a England royal castle.
Many locals in the community are oblivious to what F.A. personally did for the community and Akron. I appreciate someone stepping up to tell his story, where it starts with the motto on the door of his home. Thanks for putting this series together.
Great information. I grew up in Fairlawn Heights in the 1970' and 1980's and attended school with Harriet. One fact I noticed when looking at the plot plan in the brochure is that the homes built between 1917 and 1929 were grand estates. During the Great Depression and through then end of WW2 very, very few homes were built on the remaining lots. Homes again sprouted up in the 1950's and 1960's but, while very handsome ("Leave it to Beaver" style homes), they are of more modest construction than the grand designs of the 1920's-probably due to changing sensibilities of home buyers who lived and struggled through the depression and war.
Jaja 🤣 🤣 ustedes no tienen sentido parar nada
Why is this a thing people visit it's just so silly what a waste of space
A bad religion
What a nice story. I’m glad the son was able to buy it back. My parents had a bungalow in upstate New York and many summers beginning in the 1970’s were had. My mom considered it her Xanadu; my older brother still owns it. ❤
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
Enjoyed this series very much! Thank you!
i was just there today! on a field trip from findley clc my favorite part was the 8 ft pool
Hi-is there any books on the Seiberling family? I would love to read more about them!
I am a Seiberling
How great is that?!
Can you find me a job I need one
Vaniman sold postcards made from the Akron fabric after a first accident. Unfortunately, these comment spaces do not allow me to post an image. The fabric is more a rust color than yellow.
Seemed like a great family!!
Is there a ballroom??
Yes
So fascinating! Thanks for sharing these wonderful historic tidbits about Akron!
Great information!
One of your best❤
So fascinating! Thanks for sharing these wonderful historical tidbits! ❤
Just discovered this series! Visited the hall just over a week ago. Can’t wait to go back and explore more!
Interesting perspective. Ty I love your history I'm just sorry that you had so few opportunities. The south is horrible the people of color and trans people. Unfortunately I live here but never looking opportunity in the mouth.
We were on our woof walk yesterday and noticed old fire hydrants on the backside of the manor house, near the ponds. Seemed like odd placement for hydrants, especially before motorized fire trucks were common. Are they there because of their proximity to the water in the ponds? Also, with regard to the trees on the grounds… how many are “original?”
Lets get some love for Mr. Paul Weeks Litchfield
Soul therapy!! You are late to the party > Promo-SM!
Great video! The decorations were beautiful this year as always - fantastic job!
As soon as I saw this channel, I subscribed. I LOVE Stan hywet so much!! I live in Cuyahoga falls, but Stan hywet is only 10 minutes away from my house! I love how it STILL portrays the 1900s - 1930 style. Thank you for making this series.
I have always loved the front gates. So happy to hear the details and see the paperwork‼️
I just went to Stan Hyatt last night!! It was so much fun, but some of the mansion was closed off. The person giving the rules said to come back in the spring or summer, and it will be open. But I loved the part that was open!!
Thank you for posting this! My friend and I were just at Deck the Halls and we were asking one of the staff all about that room and were so curious about what is inside!
Chloe looks like Eileen Wuornos.
I love how this makes me feel like I am at school again and I have know idea what they are talking about
Who is filming with phone being held vertically? 🤦♂️ Horizontally, horizontally. 😀 Thank you, anyway. Awesome place.

People do not appreciate and understand the effort and expense of operating an estate of this size locate in an environment with harsh winters...and it was built and operating in 1915!!
I love that you take time to show things that people would not really be able to experience and I believe I think you’ll grow more thank you will
Cool! I have a transturn! Badum cha!

Not going until the mask requirement ceases.
