This is a nursery stock Juniper purchased in Spring 2021 that had a very interesting bend in the trunk. So I obviously had to buy it!
Elm Bonsai | Grown from seed | Winter 2022
มุมมอง 197หลายเดือนก่อน
This tree is an Elm from an 80 year old tree in my front yard, it was grown from seed a few years back and I started developing it into a bonsai in 2021. This was the first major styling I had done on it (formal upright) I’ve already filmed an update video and will continue to upload videos on this tree as I think it’s developing nicely.

A quick summer pruning of a nursery stock Juniper. This tree is still in early development, so I only removed a few branches to limit juvenile growth.

This elm tree was growing in my brothers yard, I dug it up and potted it. The following year I wired it with a few bends for an upright formal style. This video is showing the second winter pruning it has received. More updates on this tree to come in the future.

This Tree is an American Elm that was growing along the fence line in my backyard. The top had been cut off by someone else and I dug it up in June of 2020 this was the repotting and first look at the root system after the initial transplanting. Follow along and see how this tree develops.
American Elm Bonsai | Root cutting | 2021

This American Elm tree is native and was growing naturally, it was taken from the backyard fence line in 2021. It's a root cutting from the parent tree (more on that tree at a later time that started growing vigorously, let's watch and see how this tree grows. This is a new Channel and will improve the quality of the content as soon as I can. Thanks for watching! Don't forget to Like, Subscribe...

7:04 "I planted this root cutting, but it didn't take" - this plant looks grafted, so the root is not the same species as the top bit

Also I noticed you had a spray bottle ready to keep the roots moist, 👍🏽 One of my bonsai peeves is seeing people who do rootwork on trees and just leave the roots out in the open to dry out. 😆

Should be fun working on that big elm yamadori in the coming seasons. How is it doing so far? I dug out an American Elm from a family members property thinking it was slippery elm...My elm is about 1/3 -1/2 thick as yours. I trunk chopped it and wow it sure put out a ton if growth!

Yes, I have a few ideas I’m thinking about doing. I should have an update on this tree in the near future. I also have more trees including a Japanese maple that’s in the works so stay tuned for that!

Nice soft movement with this one. The branches seem to be developing good.

The video was good. You provided multiple views of the tree and showed the cuts that were made for the tree's design. Anyone familiar with bonsai could relate I suppose. I think if you like the way your videos are made and how your trees are presented I'd say keep it up. It's very interesting to get a glimpse of other people's trees. I definitely don't have any harsh criticism for this video, especially since I feel If were to make a "bonsai work" video it might be pretty similar. @@TexasBonsai

@@DeciduousSnurb ok, thanks for the feedback! I’m filming with a new mic now so the sound should be better. I’m also considering filming indoors with smaller trees with a dark or grey background so you can really see the branches. The only problem is most of my trees are still very young and in development lol!
