I would like a detailed description of the charging connector area. If we lose the charging case we have to buy it which is sold at a high price. This is the biggest drawback. We need to find a compatible charging case.

Most real eyeglass lenses are not made from glass anymore. It's not that it's cheaper (although it may be) it's more the safety of your eye. Glass shatters and polycarbonate does not.

I would have used 99% iso and your rework station to undo that glue. it would have taken a bit of time using lower air temps as to not melt or change the texture of the plastic, but I bet they would have come apart without breaking the glasses.

As for the lenses: they are made of polycarbonate, which is used primarily to reduce weight and is safer than glass since it is not prone to shattering (which is why it was initially introduced for kids glasses). It is also a compatible substrate for various nanolayers that allow it to be made even thinner while maintaining prescription strength, and allowing tinting or transition properties. Polycarbonate is also a UV Cure resin, meaning it will absorb almost all of the UV light that hits it. Because it is a UV Cure resin, that means it will also yellow and become brittle over time, which is also where the nanolayers help as they protect the polycarbonate from UV Rays as well (particularly so with the transition lenses). In effect: It's less of a cost cutting measure and more of an industry standard now. Especially since these are Rayban glasses, which is owned by Luxxotica, which was bought/merged with Essilor a few years ago, which focuses on polycarbonate lenses and nanolayers As for the speakers : I actually agree with the use of over-ear transducers rather than bone conduction transducers (and I'm impressed with hiding mics in the nose-pieces, seems like those are meant to help filter out noise to some extent?). The reason I agree with the over-ear transducers is that bone conduction headsets usually require skin contact for best performance, but some people with sensitive skin would have issues with this. That being said, bone conduction should absolutely be an available option, as it can help those who have ear canal blockages to hear better than an over-ear speaker option can, and can even be used as a general hearing aid in those cases (to some degree)

Too bad you didn't explain which charging leads are positive and negative on the glasses/case or there weren't any clear indicators I could find. HI. I understand you completed this many months ago (and thanks), but could I tap into your insights? I have just bought the glasses and love them. However, the Large was too big at the frame point but perfect at the pinch point behind the ear, whereas the medium is perfect at the frame but tight behind the ears. I’ve stuck with the medium but, based on what you saw, could the tip of the arms be heated and bent out slightly without damaging anything internal? Thank so much!

Great Video - it tells me what I want to know but I will ask my question anyway - is it a safe assumption that I cannot easily replace the temples/arms of one pair of RB Meta glasses with the arms of a different pair of the same design but different color? The reason I’m asking is that my friend and I had this idea to create two-tone glasses out of them. I would buy a brown pair, he would buy a black pair, then we would swap the arms of our frames so that mine are brown in front but black on the sides and his are Black in front but brown on the sides. Based on your video, it seems to be that this would be very difficult for the layman because there is actually thin electrical wiring that goes all the way from the right arm to the left, through the joints of the temples. You can’t simply unscrew and remove the arms of the frames like regular glasses. Is this a correct assumption?
