I stayed in the Marlborough in early 2020 and had what I assume was paranormal experience, I was getting ice on one of the floors I don't remember which floor it was on my way back to My room I stayed on the 5th floor I seen a man walking aside Me, I didn't think much of it I just assumed it was another guest coming from his room to get into the elevator, As I got in the elevator I wanted for the man to walk in after Me there was no one there I got back to My room it didn't cross my mind that maybe I seen a ghost until I went checked out of the hotel weeks later.. I also Felt the presence of a Sad woman while I stayed at the Hotel,
malborogh hotel.. where you come to stay and end up being molstered .
This place is a sex trafficking hotel
Everyone around me says strange noises are coming from those hospitals. I don't know, but I think the stuff in the movie Grave Encounters is real.
My father worked there as a nurse until he had to retire due to going blind. I used to hang out at the cafeteria up that hill with the patients in the 70’s as a kid while my dad worked. My mom also worked there as a health care worker. Both of my parents have passed my father died Sept 2, 2022. This place was a huge part of my childhood. It taught me to learn how to respect mentally ill people
ALL DISEASE IS TOXICITY, including mental illnesses! Of course the INSANE don't know they are insane! (the VAST majority)
Arthur erickson designed this for vpd
My late sister was a patient there in the early 70s
The thing that scares me is that i live near this house 😱
You can go and check grave encounter . This movie created here
Great film
Whereis this place?? Grave encounters??
They allowed to in or not
I saw grave encounters movie. This hospital look same shown in movie. Is this the same hospital?
Yes
And now riverdale used it for the sisters of quiet mercy’s church.
Grave encounters?
Where the hell are these poor souls to go....absolutely disgusting!!!
Death awaits ............
My aunt stayed here my brother got left on the second floor 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
With no one
I'm Now Go To Grave Encounters Hospital (Riverview) Good Bye ! 19.1.2018
And he never came back…
It wont last, really. Austistics today give you beating 10x. Let alone the walls if there is stress.
i was a patient here would you like to know a better view than a historical one.A view looking out especially the glorious view of the graveyard everyday waiting for you to be next
I've worked here a lot in the film industry and spent a lot of time in the crease clinic, east lawn, and the exterior or the west lawn building. During the day it's not so bad but walking through the halls of the crease clinic at night with only a headlamp is pretty creepy. I walked through the 4th floor at night by myself and one of the old radiators in one of the rooms randomly switched on while I was walking by (it sounded like a light switch being turned on) and it freaked me out. Most of the buildings have asbestos in them still and some of the paint contains led which makes it quite a health hazard. Thanks for making This video I found it really interesting !!
If any building would be HAUNTED, THAT one would be! The ATROCITIES that occurred there would sicken most people! Anyone who spent any amount of time in any BC institutions would KNOW what I mean!
Does the building still exist?
sexyCat love yeah its still there, they're fixing it up to open it again
I went here at 3am with some friends and tried to find a way in with no luck. We did hear some really loud voices/yells inside that we couldn't make out what they were saying. Real creepy.
D M such bullshit 😂😂😂 you did not hear anything stop capping
there is a broken window in the back if u climb up a pipe u can get in
en el minuto 2:51 si lo dejan en pausa se puede ver alguien en una ventana de la esquina de avajo
en la pelicula de paranormal encuentro bajo tumba ese es el mismo no q sale
ese hospital no era el de fenomeno siniestro
Si. Es Ese ;-;
Some guy posted a video a while back as a drone view of the location, wouldn't mind making this into an episode with Interviews with staff and patients. Maybe get him to share some footage or shoot something new, Riverview is constantly evolving, still currently owned in a way by Hollywood north and the city of Coquitlam, the original building at west Lawn is in serious need of repair or demolition, would be nice if they put in an effort to showcase our history rather than tear it down for condo land :(
the colony farm you mention in the video is that the same one that is at the corner marry hill by pass and Shaughnessy st in Poco?
John Doe yes that's the one
yeah and you guys are fucking idiots your movies could have been legendary but no we have to show its fake and bullshit fucking assholes grave encounters 2 was a disgrace you should have kept it real
Has anyone who went there seen the wall where a patient wrote about demons?
+Elle Elena I couldn't find it, and I've been all over the crease Clinic
Glen Ferguson thank you
I'd like to re shoot the documentary again for the full hour, with Interviews from Staff and patients, Upgraded my Camera gear recently to a Sony HDR AX 2000 with Sennheiser G3 wireless Mics,
***** like what?is this place haunted?
+luongoisgod2008 a ha no. I've been there they use parts of it as classes ext
The history tells an ugly story, mostly of our ignorance at the time. I worked here in the 60's. It stunk big time, literally. urine.. It was no less than shocking on my first entry. We didn't see "these people" in the streets in those days which is why I was so shocked. Fortunately, many have been able to manage their illness and live in society today, as a result of this place progressively closing and advancing treatments...but the need is still there, maybe more than ever. No. they are not haunted. The scary part was the living within those walls, (the poor souls!) and the treatments of the day, at that time, and. of course, the history. They are very old with VERY thick, disintegrating concrete walls and small metal framed window panes. Mostly ..they stunk. They need to be torn down. This property is much to valuable to BC taxpayers as a useful property. We bought it!!! We need to use it. Start somewhere..once again..........with kindness and true understanding.... and education! New structures, new jobs, and hope for people who suffer.
+twiter bee Thanks for your comments. It's nice to see someone on here that respects the memories of those who suffered at this hospital. My father's younger brother, Loren, had down syndrome and because of the shame brought on by ignorance, along with a lack of support at home, he was institutionalized here. It was during the depression so it was difficult for my grandmother to visit him. When she did, she would bring my father along. Shortly after moving to the hospital, Loren became ill with dysentery and within a year he passed away My dad was very young at the time, but the memories of those visit lived with him well into his '90s.
Although i realize the people were supposed crazy and could cause problem's, but you know like the movies people were treated more horrible behind those walls and thats a fact and god knows what else if i even knew anyone who did this shit to people i don't care if they were 100 years old i would show them a new meaning of pain and suffering lol.
twiter bee and once "this place" closed the vast majority of patients were released to the streets with no family, no coping abilities or relationship skills etc. A vast majority of addicts in the downtown east side at one point were former residents of riverview. There are still many former patients that are now addicts on the street.
My dad used to work there also as a nurse in the 70’s and 80’s. You might of worked with him- his name was Ray Barens. He passed just a few months ago Sept 2, 2022
@@christopherdunn317 You don't have enough time to 'deal' with all the PERPs because there are MILLIONS of them! I've researched MK Ultra mind control for 26 years!
One must consider the fact that it was originally an insane asylum, and truly at the lowest of times for care and understanding for the mentally ill. Historic perhaps, but not in a good way. We own this property and it should remain mental health and support services but not in these buildings. It is valuable property and sits alone like a little village. It could be a nice place for treatment(s). The need is horrendously high, although one must consider the fact that it was and is impossible to treat an active addict, and that is much more often the case of today. especially when one tries to keep the 'clean' and effectively treat psychiatric conditions. Human rights stepped in, years ago, and fractured this previous system. A much more modern and humane system needs to be created. It floors me that we care so little for our own, keeping them safe and keeping others safe from them, when needed. Does it cost any more than handing out welfare and dealing with public crime and drug problems..maybe yes, But, we are supposed to be civilized and caring.
+twiter bee Actually Riverview was ahead of its time for psychiatric help, doesn't mean to say it was good help but in 1912 it was state of the art in mental care.
oh my fuck wow just nuke it down
Every time I think I have the volume set, it changes, making for an infuriating listening experience.
I'm actually surprised at the interest in this location, I tossed the video together with the permission of the historical society otherwise my camera gear would have been seized ..
what a beauty building ..if I got the money for buy ..its my new house ....my dream house ..nice video
Here's a quick question, for those who have seen this video...do we preserve our heritage in B.C. Canada. or destroy it from existence, buildings like this are torn down to make room for valuable real estate, do we preserve our history?? buildings like this in Northumberland England are preserved for future generations to discover. What are your thoughts. ?
For those Interested you can have my personal Email address, lets stop tearing down history, It doesn't remove the memories, chatted with patients who cheered when PHI was finally reduced to rumble, now they feel it was better left up to preserve their memory of the treatment they had to endure there.
Glen Ferguson I toured the grounds today. My guess is the costs of maintaining these buildings would be very, very high. I think it is better to preserve the buildings with photos, videos etc.
+Jeevan Hull hey still have Hollywood north using the buildings
Not only we need to preserve it, but we also have an obligation to keep its history and share with the public. This site it’s invaluable from a historical and architectural point of view.
My moms friend took some pics of this place, she took one and then took a few steps back to take a bigger pic, the two where takin seconds apart. In the second picture there was something peeking out from a column, I zoomed way in on the pic and it was a clear image of what appeared to be a priest with a faint misty aura around it. It was creepy! And I'm going there today to take some pics!
Gigglez'n Gamin' so,you took some pics?
+Gigglez'n Gamin' send me the pictures
My uncle (on my mom's side 20 years her junior) decided he was going to take artsy pictures with his gf and they were really creepy more the squatters evidence. There were fresh killed rats with their insides ripped out and lots of porn magazines. My dad said he and my grandpa went there in the 1960s to check a family friend out of there. My dad was waiting outside and a patient was outside with a doll asking him to hold her "baby" i think that scared him,
Essondale seemed so ominous when I was a child in the 70's driving by with my parents. The street signs warning not to stop for patients, and seeing the old large buildings in the background. Thanks for doing the video, Nice job.
Reserved for the andretti clones
I was a teen in the early 70s, and I vaguely remember horror stories about that place!
Do some research. The last man to hang in Manitoba was Henry Malanik. Malanik fell to his death at precisely 2:13 am on June 16, 1952, after he was convicted of killing Detective James "Ted" Sims of the Winnipeg Police Department on July 16, 1950.
your right, thank you
If there's a DeathAwaits sign on the door you know you're fucked...
+Majoras Mask lol, that was a TV Prop bro.....
Death Waits!
is this grave encounters hospital?
yes
Yep
The Exterior shots were filmed outside of West Lawn built in 1913, now Condemned, All Interior footage was done in The Crease Clinic.
Trove Squidy Sim, esse hospital é o do filme Fenômenos Paranormais, só que eles utilizaram esse prédio para gravar o filme.
Trove Squidy its a mental hospital
It may have already been mentioned but it was also used as a location in Battlestar Galactica, The Farm episode.
yes, also the X Files
Great video Glen. Did you ever get a chance to see the museum display before it was packed away a year or two ago? There were some enlightening images and implements there, to say the least.
Yeah Paul, I'm actually slated to go back this upcoming Tuesday to do an Interview with UBC and Anna Tremere, Anna ran the museum and worked 40 years as a nurse there.
Glen Ferguson Cool. You may want to contact the Riverview Horticulture Centre Society, a number of the gals that organize the arborist walks that I and others lead around the site are former nurses / employees of the hospital. I have a couple of grainy pictures of the museum display from Treefest 2010 which I believe is the last time it was open to the public before getting mothballed. Shoot me a PM and we can discuss if you wish.
Paul Buikema Already on it, chatting with a few former patients too, and Sean Rogerson who played Lance Preston in Grave Encounters 1 & 2 to get his take on the location.
lol
My Daughter is into that, she's heading to a convention in Vancouver
In 1960's
My mother was a patient there in the 60's nd was murdered there by a male patient in 1970 . I was conceived there also. This is no joke
Proof
@@Icykrissy they don't have proof of their own birth..
@@Icykrissy RESEARCH!
Can be hard to pinpoint where someone was conceived- he didn’t say born there. He said conceived. Either way who are we to argue?
Grave encounters is correct, most of the camera work was done in the Crease building, even though they showed them entering West lawn.
Tell me brother grave encounter is fake aur real
i grew up 5 min from there!! i used to take the bus through the grounds everyday to go to high school, i also used to play in the huge grounds especially on rare times when it would snow!!
