I'm surprised it lasted for 20 years.
Planning to wipe off the over spray on the metal? Wouldn't let you stain my dog house!
I hope🙄 he has his contractors liability all paid up
Awesome video! I just finished washing our front porch. Still have the rest of the house to go 😅 is there any product available to apply once it’s been washed back to its original color? I love the red look of cedar but I don’t like having to wash it so often to keep it’s natural color. Thanks!
nope I do not believe so
Seal it
In the UK, I use Texnap22, which is apparently a 'non-carcinogenic process oil' which helps retain the colour. There's also a product called 'Cedar Treat'. I'd be surprised if NA didn't have this type of product.
What stain are you using ? Is it oil ? Is it clear or transparent or semitransparent? Did you use a brightener on it ?

Never pressure wash wood. Softwash. Prevents firing and pressure lines
hello do you restore wood meaning stripping decks houses and so forth. how many years have you been restoring wood. Have you heard of Wizard of Wood watch some of his videos please attend his wood restoration training you will gain tremendous knowledge. I have been working in the wood restoration industry since 2010 best of luck to you my friend. you can soft wash a lot of surfaces, but wood is not one of them. You have to use adequate pressure and proper spray tips in order to achieve best results. God Bless you.

I think you can Softwash it just fine with the correct chemicals Just requires a good bit of rinsing But it’s more even and easier
Hope the builder used Tyvec or similar. If not, y'all just poured 100s of gallons of water all over the OSB behind that cedar by spraying upward. If only 20 years old, should have it. But something to think about before you go spraying older homes.
yes Sir thank you for your consideration
How would you wash a wooden home on stilts? I was thinking of x jetting it with a mix of sodium hydroxide and sodium metasilicate after the initial rinse. Then oxalic to brighten the wood then rinse. If I have to wash high up will it rinse well with light pressure? Thanks.
Why do you go bottom to top? And did you treat it with anything after?
if you clean from top to bottom you washed away all the sodium hydroxide thus making the restoration process not as effective.
You stained the roof 😂😂😂😂
Wow, a cedar home actually being cleaned well and not just carpet bombed with chlorine! Nice to see 👍 and extra points for initially rinsing row by row from bottom to top. Good job.
thanks brother
Hi. Take that stain off real quick. I'd like it 2 shades lighter. It won't take long ;-)
What type of machine and gun did you use?
Hydrotek hot power washer 5gpm and 4 bangers spray nozzles
That looks like burnt wood! It’s not supposed to be washed like that!!
You got it all over the roof..
what specific tool is he using to apply the stain?
graco 390
Was that a big septic tank clean out? Heck yeah! Git it boy!
Very cool videos, and an awesome transformation. So you used hydroxide as a stripper first then stained? I was thinking of doing a cedar shake siding home with metasilicate first followed by oxalic. Thanks for any tips, you did amazing!
you can use metasilicate depending on the condition of the cedar shake. if there is no stain or barely any stain you can get away with using metasilicate then brighten. Just make sure you inspect the shakes to make sure they are in good condition. also make sure you use a 40 degree tip and stay back at least 6 to 12" so you do not scar the wood. best of luck
Cedar is amazingly resilient.
Tell that to carpenter bees
You don’t need a mask to apply it ?
your can wear one if need be the mixture was not that strong so did not feel the need to wear one.
Which tip are you using
40 degree
Awesome! What stain color was this?
Super Cedar Dark
Is it normal for there to be pressure washer marks when pressure washing this old or older of cedar wood with this kind of debris on it
Nope if u know to clean properly have to use the appropriate pressure and chemicals that should be allowed to do the work
WHAT PRODUCT ARE YOU USING ?!
sodium hydroxide
@@mikemovila7732 does it come under a brand name? Available at regular big box stores like menards or lowes?
@@Z_O_A_T …..it’s liquid bleach from a pool supply store. Look for 12% sodium hypochloride. Regular bleach is only 6-8 %
@@Z_O_A_T it is not sodium hypocrite lol t is sodium hydroxide big difference between the two
@@jamesmitchell6288 you can buy it from professional wood care store or possibly lumber yards more expensive though
What product are you using? Regular pressure washer on low pressure? Have a house to software. Thanks
sodium hydroxide
