The Jedburgh Podcast
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 30 เม.ย. 2021
In May 1943 the Allied Forces determined a new type of leader was required to win World War II. Operation Jedburgh parachuted three-man teams deep behind enemy lines to win no matter the challenge. Jedburghs lived by the mantra “how you prepare today, determines success tomorrow.” Today’s leaders are no different.
The Jedburgh Podcast empowers leaders to achieve success by transforming themselves and their organizations. Creator, Host and Special Forces Green Beret Fran Racioppi interviews the world’s most prominent visionaries, drivers of change, and those dedicated to winning.
The Jedburgh Podcast is an Official Program of The Green Beret Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to supporting America's U.S. Army Special Forces and their families. Since its inception, the foundation has invested over $15 million in support of the Special Forces community, providing aid to more than 13,000 families with 87% of every dollar going directly to programs and services.

Technology Secrets from Green Beret Trainers
What makes our military great today are the leaders who guide it. As a leader, you have to be able to influence and provide direction, purpose, and motivation. That’s how America’s Green Berets take initiative in any situation. However, motivation and leadership are two very different things.
From the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Fran Racioppi is joined by Medal of Honor Recipient CSM Matt Williams and LTC Dave Lucas to discuss the leadership attributes within Special Forces, how technology is being integrated within the force, and the opportunity and challenges faced by Special Operations Forces on the next battlefield.
Tune into the full conversation on Episode 140 where Matt also shares his riveting account of the Battle of Shok Valley.
Then watch CSM Williams and LTC Lucas share the lineage of the Green Berets in our first documentary Unknown Heroes: Behind Enemy Lines at D-Day, the story of Operation Jedburgh, only on TH-cam.
Highlights
0:00 Technology integration in SOF
3:58 Leadership through challenge
8:19 Challenge for SOF tomorrow
10:20 Biggest Opportunity for SOF leaders
Special thanks to Roxanne Merritt and the entire team at the Special Warfare Museum for graciously hosting this series.

Stress is the great equalizer in leadership. When you're cold, you're wet, you're tired, your company’s losing money, you have no revenue, you’re pinned down by enemy fire, or you're down by five with two minutes left, great organizations need leaders who stand up, take charge, make decisions and act. America’s Green Berets are the best in the world at leading under stress. To unpack just how w...

Thank you for your service hero
Thanks for watching!
Technology playing has pretty much levelled around whats available to GBs and future near adversaries, it might be hard to put focus on technology on gaining upperhand in the next major fight
The US has always maintained the tech advantage, but you are right that the gap is closing fast. Our people still make the difference, but we have to continue to remain ahead in tech too. More on this topic throughout this series over the summer.
Get out. Asap.
The CSM represents all NCO's. As an NCO I always looked up to them and gave them max respect
This is one of our best. Hands down. Thanks for watching.
Grandfather and father were both FMF corpsman. I’ve seen the trauma these guys deal with and it’s deep. I was an AME in the navy had to try a different route
Thanks for your service and 100 agree. It's a tough job but is critical to our success. Thanks for watching.
A Quiet Professional!!! And a Humble Sargent Major.
Agreed!
Name one time leadership ever admitted they were the problem. I'll wait Of course this is what he said
Rank means nothing when you have the MOH on your neck. You’ll have to salute him no matter what
Thanks for watching. Agreed!
Rule of thumb. There is no such thing as friendly fire.

Thanks for watching 👊
@jedburghpodcast Our military is the Backbone of Our Country! 🇺🇲 When the Vietnam War came, both my brothers enlisted in the Army!😇❤️
Im 16 looking forward to join the army this video really helps out with having a better understanding of what to expect
Exciting times ahead in an Army career. Check out some of our other pieces on Special Forces and the Army itself. You will definitely be prepared. Good luck and thanks for watching.
bro think he mike tomlin 😂
😂 Good one! Thanks for watching.
My brother is a retired 18 Delta.
"You need to be rich to be free"... Is not what he said. There is a kind of freedom that comes with wealth, but it traps you in other ways.
I wanna join so bad
well that was a waste of time
❤🇺🇸🙏
Thanks for watching!
Thank you sir, for sharing your story. All of you who serve our country are true Heros.
Our training is not classified just most of the missions
Thanks for watching. Most Initial training isn’t classified. Some specialty training is. We are working over time to cover as much as we can to show how capable and how competent our Special Warriors are. 🇺🇸
I was an infantry combat medic I appreciate anyone giving us props..
Thanks for carrying that burden. I owe countless lives to my Infantry medic and my 18Ds. Thanks for watching.
🇺🇸🗽
Thanks for watching!
You Sir are a “ True Hero”, Thank You for ourFreedom. Sir did you know Salvation is a Free Gift from God but you have to accept it by praying and asking Jesus to come into your heart forgive your sins and save you so you go to Heaven when you die instead of Hell,it really is that easy, Jesus did the hard part when he died on the cross for the sins of the world, it is your decision.
With mergers comes downsizing.
Being a federal employee 38 years myself what you eloquently stated so well and you are right it’s just downsizing. Everybody’s give a big explanation for downsizing.
Too bad. It took you all hundreds of years to figure it to f*** out. Leave it up to the united states military to be double last fucking one
I remember growing up and reading in a lot of the sergeant Rock comics that the pilots were known to fight the good clean war due to the fact they were never on the ground in the mud. You had to be Ghangsta back in the day 🤌🏾.
The air war was a nasty one too. I still need to watch the special on Apple TV but I heard it was awesome. Thanks for watching.
Chris is so right. I almost never hear someone talk about the use of lactate in the slow twitch fibers as a mitochondrial fuel source and so correct. This is so important to gain capacity. You have to train both the slow twitch type 1 fibers and the type 2a/2x fibers. You have to be metabolically flexible and be able to use both fatty acids and carbohydrates at same time and then use the lactate to recover.
This was hands down the best physical performance convo we've had. All athletes need to watch it. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for an inspiring video. As a Nurse Anesthetist in an FST, I had rolled up my sleeves mid-forearm to keep all the gunk off of me when doing my work, my SM always yelled at me for that. It was great to see the SM with his work sleeves up a little. I supported the SF in Khandahar, it was like an excellence university, it had a big big impact and influence on me in helping me have higher expectations and knowledge of myself and others. It is these soldiers' influence and training in Ukraine that is helping the Ukrainians be so successful. General and CSM, if you are reading this and can, please bring the concept of prolonged field care as part of the common knowledge and training within the Reserves and regular army.
Thanks for watching and thanks for your service. An FST is a tough job, but critical to our success on the battlefield. We can always improve our medical expertise in the field.
Only one thing you always forgot to tell. All of that fortifications were empty because all soldiers were sent on Eastern Front. You have no resistance except in only few points, and not any army waited for American invasion forces, because all of them were also in fight with Soviets. You had skirmishes with some German police forces there and that was all. Without Soviets fighting whole German and their allies forces, you will have no chance for that invasion.
No Frank, your dad was on the other team..
Thank you for this amazing video. Wish I could have experienced it for the 80th. My artillery regiment landed on Normandy and pushed all the way across France. Heroes all, I'm glad to have met one of our 15th Field Artillery regiment veterans and have him tell me his experiences of laying direct fire on German armor to protect the infantry.
Thanks for watching and serving in a great unit. We will continue to honor their sacrifices.
Lowering physical standards to accommodate ANY individual in order for them to be part of Special Forces is a Failure.
Agreed. DOL.
Seeing them both with no schools is honestly embarrassing
Thanks for watching, but I recommend you check out their full bios for their accolades. Just because they are not wearing them on their duty uniform like we used to, doesn't mean they haven't done anything. www.swcs.mil/About-Us/Command-Group/
Idk
Well I use them. I live by the Super Greens. Thanks for watching.
NEVER FORGET!!! WE MUST...NEVER FORGET!!!
Agreed. Thanks for watching 👊
SOE
SOE was critical to the success of the Jeds and the entire war effort. Great work by the Brits 👊

Problem is… the nurses. Nurse doesn’t like you she’s able to take benefits away. Don’t tell me otherwise cause I had it happen.
There is a tremendous amount of subjectivity in the process. That has to be removed. Thanks for watching.

Agreed. Thanks for watching!
I'm glad she and her unborn child survived, thanks to our American Soldier Heros.
I’ll be the first one the list for that mos
I'm looking forward to seeing how it's rolled out. The good news is that it will be a different MOS and not an additional duty. We spoke more about it with the 1st SFC and USASOC Commanders in upcoming episodes. Stay tuned!
It was more that the SS acted like they were in Russia then france When shot at they stopped and burned villages and shot villagers instead of going to the beach to attack
The SS operated differently than the German regulars. One of the untold stories of the Normandy campaign is how many civilians were killed. Thanks for watching.
