years later, after actually playing this game myself, it's... fine. the first one was great, TTYD was pretty good, and the rest up to this were enjoyable. this one felt like it had _moments_ of greatness, but overall, it felt. just fine.

The fact he was losing his mind over the second boss really does set the mood for the rest of the video lol

As someone who was born in 1990, I agree with Vinnies take: Best to worst: DKC2-DKC1-DKC3 I didnt mind the level design of 3. It was all the secrets I had to find that killed my experience with it.

Kind of a shame Vinny didn't seem to like this one very much, but I guess man's soul can only weather so much gormlessness.

as a DKC3 fan I'll be the first to admit the gimmicks are tiresome sometimes, and these days I play it on the Switch emulator with rewind for the sake of my sanity on the harder levels. That said, Vinny seems to be exceptionally bad at this game lmao

DKC3's Enguarde is one of the easiest characters to control in the entire series and he still manages to die as him... You can literally just spam his attack and complete the level 99.999% of the time.
