The now disbanded (and disgraced) Airborne Regiment of Canada t-shirt; nice touch, good reminder.
It's not the Airborne Regiment tshirt. That one is different and has the Cap badge of the Canadian Airborne Regt on it. These maroon shirts are just for Canadian Airborne soldiers that do the course or are in jump companies
i have watched this video to many times.
man ima break my legs
0236 "If you piss off gravity it will send a planet up your ass" Airborne
i got accepte this year im a little bit nervous
Amazing how there are actual serving soldiers in the Canadian Army, both Regular and Reserve, just dying to get a Jump course, and they give it to teen-aged cadets. Not cool. And for those 16-year olds who got the course, well I guess you may technically be entitled to wear the maroon Airborne t-shirt, but maybe, just maybe it should stay neatly folded in your dresser until you've actually become a soldier and served in an operational Parachute Company.
I did my Jump Course as a Canadian Army Cadet , then multiple tours in the Australian Army. If you're saying those t-shirts should only be for Operational Airborne Units. Does that mean those units actually jumped in Combat? I'm curious when the last Canadian Infantry unit jumped into action? So maybe, just maybe most of us need to put our t-shirt on the shelf.
The audacity
Well done Canada.
I loved taking this
The cadet training is awesome! Even if you don't go on to a career in the military. Confidents, discipline, respect, and the value of team work! Huge!!
I was on this course in 1977 (Serial 7711) at CABC Edmonton: 3 weeks pre-para PT (& this afternoon 6 months of my own personal PT - I practically had muscles on my breath!) followed by 1 week at the Mountain Outward Bound school, and then Jump School. best summer of my life.
I led the detachments from the 12th Special Forces Gp that flew NOE in 2 US SOF CM-130s up to Edmonton CFB in 1976 to participate in a joint training operation with the Canadian Airborne Regiment (part of which was to become qualified in Canadian airborne operations / and the Canadians in ours). At the end of the operation, we were awarded our Canadian Parachute Badges and the Canadians were awarded ours in a shared ceremony on the parade ground. I can assure you that every American proudly wears those Canadian jump wings with fond memories of the time we served side-by-side with the "Gallant Men of the Great White North."
Going for it this year, wish me luck :)
I live in England, my late father served in first battalion the British parachute regiment from 1958 to late 1969 he passed out as top recruit in 1958 at the age of 28 and a half years old , British para training back then was brutally tough
10 cent airborne jump
What a wonderful video. Earned my wings over 30 years ago and proudly wore the maroon beret in two operational theatres. The pride shown in the faces of the graduates and instructors was fiercely real and well-earned. Well done. Ex Ceolis. Airborne.
Any vids of there P Coy ?
Hell the Canadian Cadets get 2 do same training as regulars that complete that course for there 'Jump Wings'!! I was a British Army Cadet & did some pretty lit stuff with them.... but the Canadians doing jump school is SICK!!!! But hey well done!!
I got my wings in Cadets in 98'. I also did exchanges to the UK and found you guys are a lot more Army oriented. I remember doing Section & Platoon Attacks with blanks. It was awesome!!!
anyone know how i apply or get in
High tension drums just don’t work in traditional military bands . Very thin sounding. When camps start up again, go back to using those beautiful 8 lug Premier drums! That’s the sound you need ! Stop copying the Americans! Copy the British
The beauty of getting these wings as an army cadet is if you join the Canadian Armed Forces, you are permitted to wear these on your reg force uniform since you are recognized as being basic jump wing qualified :)
interesting
and then 20mm cannon fire kills everyone brrrrrr brrrrrr
Wut!?
Is this stabdard for females for males?
I'm pretty sure it's the same for both
AIRBORNE!!!!!!!
So basically its no different what the CF would do.
Thank you
American and Canadian Airborne schools are almost identical, makes it safe and easy when conducting joint operations
Bravo Zulu to all those cadets who passed the para course!
That PLF at 6:23 looked pretty rough.. But any jump you walk away from... is a good one.
What are the requirements to get into the course?
It can be found online
Minimum fitness requirements: 1600 metres in less than 7:30 31 sit-ups 7 chin-ups
Great effort. The only problem I have with this is that the cadets are NOT AIRBORNE and neither are the CIC/COATS adults staff. "Airborne" is reserved for soldiers and these people are NOT soldiers. The comment that the there is "a mission" still to complete after landing is not true. They should NOT be wearing AIRBORNE tee-shirts.
It's the real airborne.
And there's 5 jumps to be made.
I did the Airborne Course as a Cadet in 1998. You earn the right to wear the wings and the t-shirt. My Medals and Army Combat Badge were earned the following years as a soldier.
Youre a fucking idiot. Get your facts straight before running your double chin
Emotional
The government lets kids jump out of planes like child soldiers but i can't have an ar15, ar10 to go hunting with? Wtf eh.
8:43 cadet crying.
when you are jumping somewhere, it is a mission, it is not done, not over but why?
The mission starts once you land...to achieve a military objective such as capturing a bridge crossing.
do they just stick the wing on the tunic? And why they Give you a punch?
tintin wu they punch the spike on the pin into your skin, that’s why it’s called a blood wing
@@ceefahie its after the parade during the parade they are not your metal wings
@@ceefahie they just do it out of tradition but i can say bloodwings are worth the pain
Pressups?
do you need to understand the structure of the parachute? Or is there a lot about Cardio and fitness assessments? What sport do you guys do?
Both I think
Hope COVID doesn’t get in the way of people who are getting sent to this opportunity this summer! Same with anyone who got a nice advanced camp or gliders/powers, hope this shit straightens itself out! Especially if it’s their last year in the program and they’re up to lose it for good 😔
I'm 66. I better start consuming more calcium so my bones can absorb the landing. America loves Canada. 🙏👍
Did the course in Edmonton in 85 great times still have buddies from back then
8:24 receiving is a previous cadets at my corp
Watching this video after passing this course is really something
