Where did you get the bracket to mount the transducer
Great review Sir, to the point and without trying to monetize on our time. How do you carry it around the city? trailer or on top of your car?
How do you like it after 3 months?
Thanks
Great idea on using a suction cup to attach the laptop! -AB0ZW
You need to make more videos. Your doing a great job Sir
Seeing it you have been on the water anymore with this kayak and how it’s holding up? Been looking at buying one!
Thank you for your time in making this video. That looks easy enough. I did not think the screen would interfere with the transducer signal but you have a great fix for that. Just leave the screen off. Thanks again and happy kayaking.
Does the pedal mechanism feel pretty sturdy as you use it?
From what I can tell, (not having a lot of experience with peddle power) it feels sturdy and robust, maintenance seems to be simple and stait forward. basically wash out the drive after use, particularly if your in a sandy environment.
Yo Dave!!
Thank you for the review on this kayak. I just bought the same one too about a week ago from Academy Sports. I have not had a chance to get it on the water yet but am looking forward to it. I am going to put a fish finder on mine too with a depth meter. Would you be willing to do a short video on how you put your transducer on the bottom of the kayak? How it's mounted? Thank you again for your time in making this review video.
Hi, Thanks for the comment, the Kayak has a plate on the bottom you remove to add the transducer, drop the transducer down the scubber whole that access the transducer mounting location, I wrapped up my extra wire and stuffed it in the scubber whole and ran the needed wire to the unit. I did find I had to leave the plate off the bottom of the boat so the sonar would work properly, when I left the plate on, the sonar would not provide correct information. I'm working with a new camera once I have it figure out I'll try and make a video of the process. Good luck!
@@windjammer1958 Thank you and good luck with the new camera. I'll be looking out for the video.
@Dave KD0AZG, thank you your for this overview of the kayak. Looking forward to more from you on it.
Nice idea great video. I'll build a stand like that I have a 3 inch pipe I'll have to look for the flanges...73s.
I used your idea with the PVC pipes except I used 3" inside diameter. I cut up a pool noodle and used a short strip to fill the gap between the Spiderbeam and the 3" PVC pipe.
Spelling appears to be your "week" spot as well. But good ideas in the video! Thanks!
Great concept, thx for sharing! Cheers and 73!
Very clever, good job.
The toilet flange idea is very creative! How did you stabilize the Spiderbeam inside of the 4” pipe? Always looking for a better way.
I used one of the ball straps to hold it to one side.
Hey Dave! Nice job! KE0TAQ here. I did the same thing with my spare tire! Only I use it to haul a couple of fishing poles or to display flags. Thanks for sharing!
Just found your video Dave. Thanks a bunch, now I need to devise a mount for off the side of my camper frame.
Clever my friend. Where did you buy the Elastic ball strap ? Claude VA2SOB
Bought the ball straps at Harbor Frieght

Does not look like a G5RV to me. Standard wire dipole, maybe?
+grn lite no, it's a G5RV at least according to Associated Radio in KC KS
