    I see that the 1st violin does not play as close to the bridge as the other 3 players - I think this means that his sound is not as articulate or penetrating as the others, and his sound is less audible, comparatively. Might be worth experimenting as a quartet. But wonderful rhythmic subtleties and excellent coordination thru all of that. The harmonic invention is great, too. Truly a great final offering from the composer.

      The first movement was terrific. The relationship between the first violinist and cellist is great. But if they'd massively slow the tempo down in the second movement, they'd realise that the sublimity and poignancy of that movement could be utterly overwhelming!

    lovely lovely lovely....its Richter who taught me to love Hayden, and then i discovered an old LP at my Uncle's country cottage that he had found in the shelter island , ny , garbage dump, of Guarneri playing all the Qrts, and pure magic....now at 68 i am playing a little Sonatina of H's , and i love it....its so amazing to compare his quality to WAM's....no wonder he was called Papa Hayden..

    The cellist should be wearing black socks and black shoes just like the other three members. She does not get a pass just because she is a woman. Want to be equal? Then BE equal.

    • @longlivetheking2230
      @longlivetheking2230 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Uhm… beeing equal doesn’t mean to dress like a man. Chamber music groups don’t need a uniform… “She does not get a pass just because she is a women” - wow my dude. Let’s continue this talk when women and men have equal rights. Or wait it’s that easy: “Want to be equal? Then BE equal” smh

    • @neimanmario
      @neimanmario 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@longlivetheking2230 It's a matter of respect towards the other member who, indeed, are wearing a uniform. The only valid equality is "Equal rights under the Law" which women, in most of the world, already have. The rest is BS. Women and men are NOT equal, the are complementary. Millions of years of evolution assigned each one a different role and anyone trying to subvert his/her role in life is a fool. And yes, she should apologize to his colleagues for wearing the red shoes and never do it again. BTW, she is quite a good cello player.

      If we've already started the clothing discussion: In general, I don't like the black clothes that musicians unfortunately wear at all and I always enjoy it when musicians (male or female) wear something colored! The only reason that speaks for black clothing is a practical and financial one: with black every musician can blend in optically with every formation. But I still find the black clothes disgusting!

    Haydn è un grande musicista in ogni opera, anche se nei Quartetti eccelle nell'Op. 33 ; l'Op. 77 n 1 è un bellissimo quartetto, eseguito in modo eccellente dai quattro giovani strumentisti. Elia Chiesa è un eccellente primo violino ,Giacomo del Papa un eccellente secondo violino ( naturalmente vado in ordine, non sapendo , dai nomi , chi è il primo o il secondo violino); Alessandro Aqui , ottima viola , anche se leggermente sacrificata fra il primo violino e il Cello eccellente di Silvia Ancarani , che mi pare anche dirigere o, comunque, dare il tempo al quartetto . Il primo violino e il violoncello sono dotati di una potenza ( se non dipende dall'acustica) che rende meno evidenti gli interventi del secondo violino e soprattutto della viola che , peraltro, ha una voce dolce e melodiosa. Può dipendere anche dallo spartito di Haydn, che è solito attribuire molta importanza al primo violino. Eccellente esecuzione i miei complimenti al Quartetto Eos.
