Attention betta lovers, can you help me figure out if my betta is egg bound, constipated, or has dropsy? Symptoms: Swollen belly for about 2-3 weeks. I first noticed when I got my male betta. It’s a egg bound female... little white spot on her stomach are the /is the outer most point of the eggs/where they’re stuck. You have to hold her in a shallow dish of water, and gently squeeze them out.

My Betta looks just like this, even has the pointy like bulge on its belly. I’ve noticed he’s been hanging out mostly on the bottom of the tank for like a week then the bulge really started showing. He has been under a lot of stress with having a couple guppy’s as tank mates so I got rid of them. Still was eating normal. He’s been fasting for 2 days and today I fed him a pea. Hope it helps! We’ve had Captain for 1.5 years and he’s always been happy and active until I put the dumb guppy’s in there! Did your betta make it through it??

Ashley Jones Well dome I have a cat that don’t bite my dog does that stop every other cat??? Every fish are the same with different characteristics if you payed attention.I don’t need advise from someone who clearly don’t know they are solitary and prefer to be alone 👌🏻
Actually....... you can house betas with other fish as long as you have a large enough tank. We have 6 now, 3 males & 3 females. We have 1 male with 6 neon tetras (10gal), 1 male with 6 peppered cori catfish, 1 spotted pleco, several ghost shrimp, 2 Mystery snails, and a TON of ram horn snails(20 gal), 1M & 1F, 6 neon tetras, 3 ghost shrimp (10 gal), and finally 2F and 4 mystery snails (10gal)(newest tank). All of our tanks are planted to varying degrees. And the only Betta that is aggressive is Mustard(10gal). He’s a asshole! And he ate his 3 ghost shrimp😡
It might also just be bloated a little. Try feeding it a little less
My bettas do the same thing when they're looking for food. It's Perfectly Normal

Yes he still works there! There seems to be more peter pan's working there and he usually doesn't come out as often as the others, but I just met him a few weeks ago on a Saturday. He works in Disneyland, Anaheim CA btw
