There are no RULES!
Two really cool guitars, one is probably over the top but like I always hear people saying there are no rules. Quick video so you can hear how the sound and function, not a lot of building on this one.

Psycho Alice, psycho knob in a cigar box
Wow, congratulations. That Oliva cigar box guitar is really beautiful! It sounds great too. The thunder smoke is also very cool. Both guitars sound great both acoustic and electric. I was amazed at your guitars.👍
Thank you!
Two awesome builds! Well done!
Thank you!
Well done. You came up with a bunch of clever solutions to tricky problems. It looks rock solid. Gonna go make one.
Thank you! Building them is so rewarding!
Thank you! Yes, building them is so rewarding!
Do you have plans/link for that laser made parts organizer/drawers?
www.etsy.com/listing/1641002429/chest-of-drawers-modular-workstation?ref=share_v4_lx
How did you do the design on the fretboard, looks cool?
I used a laser engraver, filled and sanded. Just had to burn it a little deeper so I could fill it. I wanted it to pop on the light fretboard!
Oh! I have an xtool laser but not sure how to set it for that length, thanks' Robert.
It took some trial and error.
I usually gravitate toward simpler styles. But I'd be lyin' and dyin' if I told you I don't love that 'Thundersmoke!' Imagine showing up at the CBG Festival with that. 😆
😆 thank you! Yeah, I try not to go over the top but this one was on my bench a little longer so I had a lot of time to think about it.
Amazing work! Just wondering why you prefer string through body vs. alternatives?
I just like the look!
2 hot gittys. Get yo self a sho nuff no holds barred Robert Byrd Cigar Box Guitar.
This is for play boom boom boom….great work
Thank you!
you know I know, been carrying the coin for over 40 years , them licks are getting better and better
Awesome! I appreciate it.
sounds good
Thanks!
nice one !!!
Thank you!
That customer's going to be very happy! BTW, I do think CBGs sound best when played bottleneck style, similarly to the way Classical guitars sound best when played fingerstyle.
Thank you!
Get yo self a Robert Byrd License Plate Gitty! Another awesome build.
Thank you!
Looking good so far!
Thank you!
Awesome! Maybe you could color match the paint of the license plate letters/numbers and stencil the number 7 top of the pickup?…
I've thought about that on several builds, trying to continue the graphics and color on to the pickup. My paint and stencil game is not that strong but I'm working on it. 😀
I can't wait to see how this comes out.
Thank you!
That looks to be a cool build!
Thank you!
Nice one...looks and sounds good. Great to see a fretted 2 stringer...🤗🤗
Thank you!
I use a push/pull on my Humbuckers along with the 3 way switch...6 way switching is killer!
Hell yeah!
I ain’t know pro .But I found that on my third build the hard tail bridge I moved back three mill from the front when the bridge was fully wound in .Ive got the whole cast of tuning just by doing that little move back from 25 to 25, plus 3 mm .peace nice work
Awesome! Thank you!
Hi Robert, thank you for this video! I‘m building my first CBG with such a Lace Matchbook pickup. I have some problems with the wiring diagram and I‘m not sure if I made some failures. Is there a possibility to recieve a complete wiring diagram with pots etc.? I can pay you something if you want so. Kind regards!
Send me a message and I can help you out, it's been a while since I put in a lane pickup!

That looks great, and I think it actually sounds way better when not plugged in... very banjo-like.
Thank you! Yes, I like the way it sounds unplugged.
Nice!
Thank you!
Great day
Indeed!
How did you thin your headstock down?
I run it across the tablesaw, here is a video I cut it down roughly 12 minutes in. th-cam.com/video/so1PXpx2EUE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=haLxvv_-lZIdLbV6
3:40 ... Jump scare!! Geezus, that "slap" sound made me jump!! Cripes! Again at 5:58 ...
Lol sorry!

Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Very cool to experience.
How is it tuned?
Tuned G D g open G.
My cat doesn't give a rat's a-- about youtube normally but when she sees this guitar played she stares intently the whole time. Even a cat can appreciate this. I found out about you from this video th-cam.com/video/AdZ2_tJOLu4/w-d-xo.html No picatinny rail? >.<
😄😄😄 thank you!
Multi color Neck is stupid crazy next level and highlights your craftsmanship above anything I have ever seen on any neck!
Thank you!
Incredible result 💙 sorry I'm a few months behind due to liking all of your posts. Keep up the great work 👍
Thank you!
@robertbyrdsguitars hi Robert I just built a similar build with 19 fretts 33 inch from top yo bottom ,I've place the bridge at the 25,5 scale .fret board end right at end of box ,but harmonics are of .Do you think I should try 24 scale ,thnks for any input .cheers uk ,I'm hoping I'm getting there .I'm stubborn, 😂
@Crosshatch1212 measure from the nut to the 12th fret multiply by 2 that will give you your scale length. Then it is a matter of dialing in the intonation.
Those "Oscar " boxes look promising. Excited to see what you come up with. Truly inspired by your passion and craftsmanship 😊🎉
Thank you!
Grateful you came across our feed. As a father of twins I'm gonna need both 😊
Thank you!
Amazing craftsmanship and ingenuity. Future generations should thank you
Thank you!
JOHNNY CASH, BILLY GIBBONS, BRIAN MAY and his father approve of your guitar builds. If ever one was unplayable I would step over my own mother to hang it on a wall near me 🎉
Thank you!
Killroy wuz here. That must be the most attractive stringed instrument I've seen in my 50+ years on this planet. Kudos my friend. You are the best 👌
Thank you!
Nicest one I’ve ever seen ❤
Thank you!
Just got a subscribe from Ireland going to starting build my first one not sure what you did for the top of the neck did you make 3 groves for the strings to the tunning pegs or a guitar nut ty
Awesome, thank you! I use a zero fret and a string guide either wood that is slotted or bone that I slot.

Thank you! Greetings.
Awesome..wiring is nice and neat
Thank you!
Nice job on those cigar boxes,I bought a kit from MGB a 3 string and this is an amazing hobby or you can make it a business.I saw Samantha Fish play a cigar box guitar and that was the start of this hobby for me.
