    All of my obj models I try to import, don't import with the assets (the normals...etc). I end up with misshapen and distorted imports. How do I import the obj models with their assets?

    Exactly what I needed, thank you! It's a shame Fusion sucks at handling organic models and Blender sucks for product design. This is a happy medium for bas relief sculpting.

    I've watched this a couple times. Here's what I don't understand. All of what you're demonstrating can be done from within Aspire (I'm using 12.0). The rotation along the three axis, sizing, importing, etc. are acheivable without too much challenge. The only thing I noticed that is different is when exporting to yield a height map. It is in fact a different grayscale artifact. It has that x-ray gradation kind of look to it in which my laser cutter performs better with this output. Am I missing something?

      Aspire and other CAM/design products have an ability to make varying degrees of reliefs or things that try to approximate reliefs. What I think you will find is that very often the results that you get with the approaches that these products take are not what you are going to want. If you are making one thing with one relief, then sure use Aspire it will probably be good enough for a one-off. But if you're planning on incorporating reliefs into your work, and want very high quality, then they often do not cut it. My suggestion is to just try some out with varying degrees of complexity - especially models with parts that are in front of other parts, such as a person with their arm going across their chest - you will find these guys typically produce results you are not going to like, whereas Relief Maker produces excellent results every time.

      @@3DReliefMaker Thank you for the response. Yes, I agree. It has been a challenge finding the right solution and consistent output for our workflow (actually quite frustrating). We use professional laser cutters and CNC machines. I've had my eye on Relief Maker and VistaSculpt for a few months now. I'll give this one a try this week. I see that you offer a forever license. Is there a limitation to your 7 day trial? If so, I don't see it on your site.

      Most people who want to sell reliefs have vastly different requirements and use cases. As such, we found posting a one-size-fits-all pricing model for a relief seller license wasn't really doing it for most people. We ask you to contact us because it allows us to gauge the scope of what someone is trying to do and offer a good price accordingly.

There are few platforms that do similar processing (VistaSculpt or even the Facebuilder for Blender Headshot plugin for example) that support this functionality?

    It's unclear how this is an improvement over simply importing STL files into VCarve and tweaking them there. I suspect this tool is tweaking things, as I see parameters like 'Focal length', 'Gauss'. Do you want to talk about those? These are why this program is useful in the first place

    • @3DReliefMaker
      @3DReliefMaker 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For *some* models, you will get similar results. However it's incredibly easy to break the approach VCarve and others take. Just try to make a relief of a person standing in front of another person and you will see the first person is on a huge ledge. Compressing depth when parts of the model are in front of other parts of the model and having it look correct is a core competency of Relief Maker, and no one else does it well, except for maybe Zbrush, which is a 8/10 and requires you to buy and use Zbrush.

    Awesome vid! I'm just starting to learn how to make these sort of files and was just wondering, instead of using relief maker, can't we just use blender from the start instead to skip the exporting step? Thanks and keep it up!

    • @3DReliefMaker
      @3DReliefMaker 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Blender's approach, and the approach of all other similar apps, will give you *a* relief, but not a *good* relief. Try it out, compare side by side! You'll get huge vertical walls with Blender, loss of detail, linear scaling of details in the Z - all that is fancy talk for uncompelling reliefs that take a ton of manual work to fix.

    sir i have just find out how to make basrelief in the easiest way possible wo any special software but blender itself, only thing i need is to bake the models normal into a flat plane , and then use any free alternatives of knald to produce a height map out of the normal map which is crazy good

    • @3DReliefMaker
      @3DReliefMaker 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are some free approaches to making reliefs. They are all relatively poor and often produce bad results. Sometimes they are ok, based on your use case. Often, they require a lot of cleanup, lose detail, and compress the model linearly in the Z resulting in bizarre results. They also do not handle "objects in front of other objects", so making a relief of an entire scene is basically a non-started. But, it is free.
