Another great video guys! I love Orvis! I own a 8’ 4wt. Superfine Carbon, 7’6” 3wt. SF Touch, 7’ 2wt. SF Carbon and a few older ‘80s & ‘90s Graphite Superfines including the epic Far & Fine. They are awesome for casting delicate dry flies but still have enough backbone in the butt-section to control the fish. Unfortunately today, Orvis only makes the Superfine in Fiberglass of all things which is heavier overall, has terrible recovery, zero backbone when it comes to controlling the fish not to mention a major reduction in touch and feel. The only place you can buy a great Orvis rod for Dry Fly fishing is buying a used one on eBay. A real shame! Orvis use to be the “Go to” company for dry fly fishing like in your video. Hopefully they will eventually get back to their roots. I just pray the will drop the old tech FG like they did over 50 years ago give their customers what the use to expect.

:I really enjoy your enthusiasm , good to see another generation of skilled U.K. fly fisherman, May just suggest please don’t import the American fashion for balancing a fishes who body weight is levered up horizontally by holding its jaw, it’s will damage it and trout are two beautiful for that. Also, all of us occasionally forget the net, but don’t swing the fish up and catch it in dry hands, instead get into the margin and draw the fish to your hand that is in the surface and therefore wet. Otherwise their skin is burned which is not what we want. Enjoy your fishing, I wish your generation strength to keep our wonderful waters full of these great fish. Looking forward to the next one. Thank you.

There's a stream in central Virginia very much like this. Yes, a chalk stream in VA. I built a 9' 4wt from a Powell blank just to fish that stream. Need to get back up there and do it again before I get too old. Would love to fish the Itchen and the Test before I die as well.

I don’t know why there rainbows are in The Test , someone obviously thought it was a good idea. Great fish in the right place, not an English stream though.

I really appreciated the level of instruction you provided in each of the steps and it is obvious you have studied the various stages of the lifecycle of the mayfly to create the collection of the fly for the fishing season. Very sadly, apart from a generally reliable mayfly hatch, you will struggle to find any decent hatch of up winged duns or spinners on the Test anymore, or in fact many rivers these days. I fish the Test at Leckford and it has very poor hatches apart from the mayfly. In 2020 there was a reasonable hatch of pale watery duns from summer to September, but there were none seen last year and this. It’s all very sad as after 68 years of fly fishing imitative fly fishing has virtually disappeared.

dude, i had a similar problem recently. my gopro decided to not be waterproof while it was under less than 1 foot of water for maybe 2 minutes. it sucks because it corrupted about 250gb of footage on my last day of a month long camping trip in Hawaii. i had just filmed my leaving the island/ending video and decided to really quickly go film this little tidepool that i had found that always had a bunch of life. when i pulled the camera out of the water like 2 min later it was off. when i opened the battery door to change batteries water came pouring out. it had basically all of my drone, underwater, exploring, fishing, catch and cook... all that stuff gone. what i have left is almost all b roll. anyways i just found your channel, and you got my sub

Next time grab the leatherman and pull the hook straight back it will save you a lot of pain and time

Really nice wild brown trout guys !...good size, healthy and strong too...what a great location with stunning pools, runs etc...were brown trout originally introduced into local Kenyan rivers from overseas?... great sport on drys + dropper nymph rig (I think?)...and well done for all the coffee and fires Andrew!...thanks for sharing guys
