Large Black Sea Bass from Kayak- Dana Point, CA
Was a bit of an unexpected catch. Launched Baby Beach around 5:30am, got bait and headed to the offshore canyon/drop-off. Dropped a jig on some marks and kept hooking decent sized greenbacks. Decided to pin them on and troll them around- one flylined and one on the 4oz Carolina on the bottom. Was doing a drift through some active birds and not long after my Speedmaster reel started screaming. Fight was about 25-30ish minutes, but I eventually got it to the side of the kayak. Turned out to be a hefty black sea bass. Was an awesome experience!

Mako Shark Feeding at La Jolla, CA
มุมมอง 1083 ปีที่แล้ว
Earlier this summer, I was trolling the area in about 200' of water at La Jolla. Was finding lots of floating rockfish people had left behind, so I was scooping the live ones up and releasing them properly with a descender when I came across this Mako shark munching on a floating rockfish. Not a big one, but it circled close and I got a good show as it took a bite. Sorry for the shaky camera, I...

King Tide/Big Waves- Sketchy Kayak Launch at La Jolla, CA

Taking my Hobie Outback through a sketchy launch at La Jolla, CA on 12/13/2020. Very high tide and decent short-period swell had whitewater pushing up the street. Almost got caught inside by that last sneaker set! #hobie #outback #kayak #fishing #fishingkayak #bigwaves #kingtide #lajolla #beach #california #lajollashores #haggardpirate

Music: Soundcloud: soundcloud.com/dj-captain-planet Finally got my first Yellowtail on the kayak in La Jolla, CA. Caught lots of these fish from boats, but this was the first time hooking and landing one on my kayak and it was an awesome experience. Thresher Shark from Kayak- Kayak Fishing: Dana Point, CA
มุมมอง 9564 ปีที่แล้ว
Thresher Shark caught from kayak on 5/31/2020 offshore in Dana Point, CA. Brian gets pulled back and forth, then down the coast for roughly a mile over the course of about an hour before he was able to get all his line back and get close enough to release it. Amazing animal to witness up close. Music: "Mississippi Dew" Yung Troubadour th-cam.com/channels/QZLYLn6QeDVnOpbkmXwGlg.html

Music: "Tearin' it up" by Gramatik. Album: SB#2 (I do not own any rights to this song!) Put this together using some of my most recent clips taken at San Clemente Singletracks, a.k.a.- "Weed Patch" in Orange County, California. The trails in the video are Fire Rock and Sloppy-Seconds. No tarantulas or scorpions were harmed in the making of this video. One scorpion was slightly annoyed, however....
Sick video. I also dig the music. I feel ashamed that I had not seen this video before

Amazing catch! whatd you catch him on?
11-12" Greenback Mac on a 6oz Carolina rig just off the bottom 👍
Nice Eric !!!!
Thanks!
Great catch! I caught a Black Sea Bass from my kayak in about 50 feet of water off of Bolsa Chica State Beach last summer. I was thinking it was a thresher shark, but was secretly hoping it was a big halibut! I was really surprised when that Black Sea Bass popped up on the surface! Awesome video!🎣😃
Hey! Nice fishing with you today! Sorry, I just saw your comment now when I logged in to subscribe to your channel. I was not-so-secretly hoping this was a halibut too haha
@@Crusty1987 it was great meeting you also today. I had a blast out there. La Jolla is definitely a kayak fishing paradise.🎣😃
What kind of kayaks? I’m beginning to start kayak fishing out of Dana. I have a fish finder but don’t know where or what to look for. Thanks
I’m in a 2019 Hobie Outback 12’. Hobie makes some great quality boats with lots of different options. I’d recommend something with a pedal-drive myself, if fishing is going to be your primary focus. I recommend getting on the forum bigwatersedge.com. It focuses on kayak fishing mostly locals waters and has tons of information and helpful kayak fishermen!
Dice it up and sneak it home 🤣. I clearly don't give a damn about any law I would found a way to take it home
Lol bro they’re endangered, it more about preserving the species of the fish. Who knows maybe in a few years the population will be sustainable, and will be able to fish them.
@@xochilthvasquez362 funny thing is it's only endangered in ca in New York they are plentiful in the winter.
@@chrischapoteau3263it’s not even close to the same fish lmao
@@blackflag_fishing bc responding to a topic from last year is relevant . Good job 😂 glad u felt the need to respond 👍🙄 but who gives a damn a yr a later bro !!! Think about that 😂😂😂 wth
Is this where you got your ear booger?
WTF is an "Ear Booger??" And no, I already had the ear infection before this lol

CHOOOOOOOOOOOOLLL
What did you catch it on? Fly line mackerel?
Yup, just a flylined Spanish!
Stay safe out there!
Nice work in the surf. What rod is that with the talica on it in your previous video?
Thanks! And that rod is a Custom wrap from Seeker. 8' BSC "Black Classic" 25-40lb with cord wrap handle and custom color. I believe the blank was based off the BSC-670

Cool video. Congrats on your first kayak YT!
Thanks dude! Means a lot coming from you. Watched a lot of your videos recently. You've got a great channel!
what yak are you on?
noride11 I’m using a Hobie Passport 12
Hell yeah dude! One of these days I'll get em.
IN54NE you’ll get ‘em! Just keep your lines in the water!
Nice video. Oh man you cut out the landing at the end.
TimeLapse La Jolla haha not on purpose! The GoPro battery died on me right before the landing! The footage at the end showing me pull the yak out is actually from a different day because it would be weird to end the video right there when we’re just about to land lol
Great video, nice getting the Yellowtail on the iron. Love the bendo action and it looks like a great workout as evident by the exhale and sitting back at the end of the fight. Great gaff shot, but leave it in until you secure the game clip. Tight Lines.
Mark R Thanks man! And thanks for the tip too. Good call, guess it would kind of suck to have it flip over the side before the clip is in... I’ll keep that in mind for the next one!
nice fish!
Scott Walker thanks!
Nice size fish.
Travis Does Kayak Fishing Thanks! I was pretty stoked on it.
Great video. You need 1 million subs.
Indeed. 999,999 to go!
Hey such a sick catch!! You trolling live or dead Mack’s ? Thanks in advance
Also you ever drift with a balloon ? Ever had success with that ?
He actually caught this one on a dropper with a live sardine lol. Only done the balloon from a boat once or twice with no luck, but not for very long so I wouldn’t really count that. Would be fun to try on a kayak though!
First to watch. Me and Elijah

1080p just finished processing. YOU WILL WATCH IT!
were does the first trail you did start....
+Clark_ Park Here's where we started in the video: 33.422784, -117.582881. It's called Fire Rock Downhill. There's a few ways to get there, but the most fun way is to start at the Dog Park on La Pata, then go back up the road and left on Calle del Cerro to get to the paved Rancho San Clemente Trail. Take that all the way up to the start of "Jericho" here (33.435321, -117.588809). When Jericho runs into the fire road, keep going straight. A little singletrack carved into a firebreak on the right will come up pretty quickly right here (33.427471, -117.584601). That's the start of the "White Sands DH" trail which is a really fun high-speed segment (watch out for some deep ruts on the last hillside!). That trail will connect right to where we started Fire Rock in this video
+JeepSurfin Thank you! Huge help, appreciate :)
Sweet video!
