1965 Campwagon pop-up restore. Replaced the 20ga aluminum particle board sandwich with solid Douglas fir plywood. Rough cut done. Need to stain and seal the wood then put the weather stripping around the windows and edges next. #1965 #a100 #classiccars #vanlife

1965 Campwagon Van - The bed had lots of holes but not a lot that will warrant cutting out to patch. Lots of grinding to base metal then sealing. This was the first video I took of the van before we started working on it. It's an overview of the set up for us to reference during the restore. This oldie had all the features that campers still want today. I have since found out that there are metal holders that multiple cots can be set up with. I will talk more about that as we build back. Got the covers off the pop up to clean everything out and we found the roof has been rusted through. It'll be repaired but not a priority yet. Once the rains get here, a tarp will keep dry. #1965 #a100 #classiccars #slantsix #vanlife #campwagon #vanfan #gearheads

Repairing the pop-up. Don't pull the metal. It's thin and hard to put back into shape. Worst case, I'll take it into the shop and hand cut a new one from Stainless but I'm going to try and keep this simple for now. Just cutting new wood to replace the particle board.

1965 A100 Camp Wagon. This was first attempt at starting with the key. She had been sitting since the 90's and I was looking for a project. All filters were changed, battery was hooked up, we flooded the cylinders with oil (via spark plug hole) for days, and we turned it over manually before attempting to crank it with the key.
