I think that while the first trailer for Zootopia 2 will either be shown in cinemas alongside Moana 2 or released on February 2025, the Christmas-themed short films or featurettes from the Zootopia franchise, “Zootopia: A Christmas in BunnyBurrow” or “Nick and Judy: Santa’s Helpers” set after the events of the first Zootopia movie and Zootopia+ and before Zootopia 2 released in cinemas alongside Mufasa: The Lion King to promote Zootopia 2 similar to how Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special did so to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and I really hope that FairyTale of New York by the Pogues will play in the beginning and ending of the short film during the flashback of Nick and Judy celebrating Christmas with their families in their childhoods and the ending with Nick and Judy kissing under mistletoe at the end showing that their relationship is indeed romantic and they are boyfriend and girlfriend, I also hope that Gazelle and Clawhauser whose relationship is also revealed to be romantic and they are boyfriend and girlfriend will also sing and perform, “You Make Everyday Feel Like Its Christmas” or “UnderNeath the Tree” during the end credits together.

The Lion King has always been one of my favorite movies of all time and I think it’s fascinating to see a prequel film about Mufasa. One of the best posthumous characters in history.
