Way are the bells half muffled.
That went up wrong
Definitely didn’t, because I rang it up!!
The clapper is very light, for the bell, hence the clattering

the place is magnificent, the view is beautiful with the ringing of bells
They are really nice ring although ropes quite long and the rope on the 9th is a bit stretchy
Nowhere near as bad as the old ropes used to be! They were super stretchy!

trebles are john taylor the rest whitechapel tenor 18-1-21cwts the church is not far from the minster
None of them are whitechapel. Back 8 are Gillett and Johnson 1938, and the front 2 are Taylors 1995.

With any bell you need to be able to hold it on the balance, hand and back, when it comes to heavy 12s its critical, like all things it take practise and it helps if you have rung on the bells previously so you understand and uave the feel for the particular bell. I thinks its great to have got the opportunity to ring the tenor, its a very heavy bell. I have no idea how someone can turn the tenor in in a peal lasting well ocer 4 hours. Keep going,have fun, thats what its all about.

When i went they thought I wasn’t good enough to ring it on my own so they used that strap I seem to ring better without it RWYNC 2023 I went

@@Ashtonringer I thought that when I rang Winchester cathedral tenor because I thought it was going to drop but it was remarkably easy going. But you did very well ringing york minsters tenor.
