The first year of my mtb journey
Hello guys my name is Ben and this is bad bikes and this Month marks a year since the first time I ever rode an MTB trail. I now have better equipment and more wisdom about mountain biking from the types of trials I like to different techniques. The fact that I went from knowing nothing about mountain bikes to making “How to” videos about them in only one year is amazing. It feels much longer than that. My story Is very similar to a lot of mountain bikers.
Started out on a cheap entry level bike maybe borrowed from a friend and having the time of your life out on local trails. probably had no idea of the finer points of mountain biking, but kept on going back to local trails. Bought an entry level bike. Then a month later realized that that wasn't good enough and decided to spend more money on a bike than a car. The rest is history…
That is the story of countless mountain bikers, including myself. But I have a feeling that that story is going to be changing soon. Good mountain bikes are becoming more obtainable by the day. And there are more mountain bike “how to” videos on the internet than I can count.
This all makes me question, Is this a good thing? Should we let new mountain bikers easily obtain these nice things that we have worked so hard for? In my opinion, I think people should have to work on obtaining their dream bike. We now have some riders that don't know what it is like to be shredding and having a blast on an old clunker. Still, I can see the other side where many more people are attracted to the sport because bikes are lighter, faster, and easier to handle. I will leave that question to be answered in the future. Thanks for watching and happy riding. As always my name is Ben and this is BAD bikes and I will see you in the next video. Good bless.

How to replace a derailleur
มุมมอง 325หลายเดือนก่อน
Hello guys my name is Ben and this is bad bikes and today we are going to be replacing my brother's rear derailleur. The reason i'm replacing it is because when trying to tune his derailleur he accidentally stripped one of the bolts on it. Luckily it wasn't a very expensive part on his bike. Still it could have all been prevented if he had just let his older brother look at it. But looking on t...

Turning a good bike idea into a better one (giving the funk bike justice)
มุมมอง 8012 หลายเดือนก่อน
A few years ago I built what I called a funk bike. The creation was a bike and a scooter put together with rope and electrical tape. It was junk, to say the least, but I enjoyed making it. I think it is time to go back to that idea. Today we are going to build the funk bike 2.0. This build will use no grees and certainly no torque wrench but will be more refined than its last version. This comp...

It's been a fun year! Thanks for watching.

Nice 👍
is this a tubeless tire? what kind of valve is this?
they are not tubeless, but they do come with double walled rims so you can make them tubeless. And the bike comes with schrader valves. How this answered your questions and happy riding!😁
@@badbikes14 yes Sir. Thank You.

Wish I could attach what happens when I go down stairs 😂😂

What is this kid talking about regarding BMX and surfaces??
what do you mean?
My son would love this
BMX bikes are built alot better than mountain bikes and it takes way more skill to ride a BMX bike
Great ride! I love the perspective 👍
Is it a freewheel or cassette?
yes
@@badbikes14 cassette?
Simple and straight to the point. Nice video.

I used to have a BMX before but I usually ride on bumpy roads soo I decided to buy a mtb and it's perfect
Put the bmx wheel back on it
Man that looks like fun!
Nice video bro
thank you!
You are so good
👍That's a nice little course that you made in your back yard.
can the metal attachment for rear racks ruin the painting of the bike under seat e.g. when there is 15kg packages on the rack and jumping off and on pavement bumps in city? (front suspension only)
The short answer is yes a little, but I use some inner tube to help protect my bike by putting around the frame first and then putting on you rack. Hope this answers your question.
Clean
yo is this bad bikes or bad ass bikes?
randomly ran into your channel. thanks for the content, feels fresh, honest, just a dude like any of us doing random bullshit with bikes and having fun.

you should tune up a fixed gear and learn how to skid!
I like the idea!
You took a bad bike and made it BAD
Hey Guy, great video! My favorite tire is the original of my Mountain bike, Continental, but after 8 years, I'm in now to try a more affordable option, I'm installing the Blackburn in the front wheel, let's see how it will work! Thank you for your review!
Nice! Hope the tier works for you!
Great job.
Thanks!
Oi ben you seem to know a thing or two. My mate put a seat post in that has suspension. My only complaint was it made it so it was unable to line up with the handle bars and I felt like I was having to sit forward too. Could I get one that works or is that not a thing? Sorry I’m a n00b
Ya, Glad to help! Just loosen the seat post collar and then you can line you the seat. To move the seat forwards or backwards there should be bolts under the seat. Loosen them and then adjust the seat the way you want and then tighten them back up. Hopefully this fixes your problem!
Thanks my dude! ❤
thats pretty cool but why do u sound like an AI? just rela.
ya, sorry, that is me reading my scrip. I am trying to get better at reading my script out loud. It is a harder part of a video production for me.
@@badbikes14 great idea and great production keep it up
Great idea - love the reuse!
Awesome jankiness
Thank you!
Hi Ben..
I would reccomend getting a half face mtb helmet.
I agree, you need more safety.
Any good recommendations under 50$

What water bottle do you use? You have issues with it falling out when you jump?
