No, they are wired into the cab light circuit, its a tiny led that comes on when the interior light does.

Hi! Great video! Why it is not suitable for steel bar bumper?
Hi, the bars enter the body through the licence plate light holes they are visible going from the tailgate going into the holes. On the step bumper they are hidden and the lights are in a different place.
How are they performing since you installed them?
mine's great on my 2020 ranger..... helps so much when i have a hand full of stuff and i care about my tailgate slamming down hard... theres only one flaw that people have to keep an eye on.. if your steel cable is not tucked in to the left of the damper then it will pinch it in-between the damper and tailgate and will eventually eat through the cable... i forget to make sure it's tucked to the side sometimes but i've made sure its in the right position 97% of the time and it's pretty much formed to that position now.. just a heads up!

How do you adjust the tailgate assist?
It doesn’t adjust. It’s a steel torsion bar. It has plenty of spring in it to make the tailgate seem lighter.

Unfortunately not.
I have just purchased this from TRUCKANDSTUFF on ebay and fitted it to my truck in less than half an hour. What an excellent bit of kit this is. Well designed, well engineered, well-made, very simple to fit and makes lifting the tailgate a one finger operation. Can hardly believe how good this is and wished I’d had this years ago. No more struggling with the cumbersome tailgate. If you’re working under the back of the truck with the tailgate down you can just push it up and out of the way from underneath with one hand. Makes everything so much easier. This kit is definitely worth every penny and if you buy from the truckandstuff guys on eBay they are quick to respond to messages and offer technical help if you need it. They advised me to remove the spare wheel before fitting which allowed plenty of room to crawl under the truck and fit it without even having to jack it up. Mine is a 2012 T6 Ranger, one of the first of this design and it fitted perfectly. I was also able to remove my aftermarket gas strut that slowed the tailgate down as you lowered it. The problem with the gas strut is it made pushing the tailgate up even heavier. This is now redundant as the tailgate weighs almost nothing when you lower it and when you lift it. You will have to get used to how little effort it takes to close it - if you forget, you will slam it shut so hard that your truck will probably move forward a couple of foot! 😆
