Marina, Lagos State, holds a significant place in Nigeria's history. Originally known as Popo Aguda, Marina was once a hub for the Brazilian and Sierra Leonean communities who settled here in the 19th century.
The neighborhood earned its name from its proximity to the waterfront, reflecting its maritime connections.
Over time, Marina evolved into a key commercial district in Lagos, characterized by colonial architecture and bustling markets.
The area became home to government buildings, financial institutions, and cultural landmarks that still stand today.
With its mix of historical buildings and modern developments, Marina is a living testament to Lagos' growth and transformation over the years.
Exploring this historic neighborhood offers a glimpse into Nigeria's past and present intertwined in a vibrant urban tapestry.

But it is not Venice. Its very very far from Venice in terms of cleanliness, organization aka town planning and also quality of the buildings.
Lagos is just fun 😂
Sammy the great 🙌🙌
Omah ❤️❤️
Victoria Island is so dark at night, compared to Istanbul.
I’ve never been to Instabul. When I visit there someday I’ll judge which is brighter at night
Very nice 👌🏽 looks very modern and green

Victoria island is called hy nigerians as the new cbd but actually no cbd is found there. The place is murky during the night. Nigerian cities are beautiful only to see if they are taken from afar but if you take a video what you will see is chaotic, muddy roads, and dirty invironment and the inner roads of the city are turned into chaotic marketplace with most of the roads are dilapidated or not concrete. But sad Nigerians will not admit the plight of their country. Lagos is cant even match up if compared to southeast asian countries in terms of order, cleanliness and infrastructure including the basic social services the people enjoyed.
I agree with most of what you’ve said, Nigeria however is still a beautiful place regardless. The cities have potential to match world class destinations if only we had leaders that are willing to put the nations resources to its best use!!
@@Thegeorgesamuels I admire your being patriotic because there is no place like home. Our country at present has many corrupt leaders in all three branches of the government. The ongoing projects in our country is still the projects of the former president with less corruption in his administration. Anyway I appreciate your humility to admit the facts of your country which I mentioned.
@@ThegeorgesamuelsGood answer!!! But it's not government!! It's the people!!! Are the people willing to make sacrifices??? Are they willing to pay taxes?? Are they willing to obey traffic lights? Government builds bridges, and the people tear up all the railings and other fixtures for sale. People under the guise of protestations destroyed the toll gates at Ozumba Mbadiwe and on the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge, yet they want better roads infrastructure and street lights! The leadership ( seeing an inevitable change in the future) says oil subsidies must go, but people are protesting and politicising it for their own ends! We are all in this together, so let's stop blaming government! Peace!! 👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!
Surely if a place is murky(due to weather conditions) you can't blame anybody for that!!😂😂😂 Abi na government go comot the murkiness???😂😂😂😂 Some people just don't like Nigeria or anything Nigerian for that matter and this includes many Nigerians themselves sadly! They view other countries through rose tinted glasses and readily give them a pass , but are hostile and disparaging towards Nigeria! But it is what it is! Even with all the disparaging flaws you highlighted, Over 15 million people still live in Lagos, and Lagos still has its fair share of ample foreigners visiting for business investment purposes or for fun and other pleasures! 👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!!
Looks good from a distance. Once you zoom in the true reality is known.
Wow, what cool aerial shots! Love this.
Thank you so much Daniel
We love you like that ❤❤
So proud of you George! 🥰 You're going to be so great I'm telling you :) "The journey of a 1000 miles begins with a single step" for sure and congrats on taking that first step

I would love to know her exact height. I would also love to know her Instagram username. ♥️♥️♥️😊😊👍😎
This is a very beautiful video! Well done. Lagos is improving. She can only get better.
Thank you 😊
When is Lagos going to develop into a modern city? I am tired of seeing this peasant thing. Our leaders are not ready to fix this country and that is so sad. Thank you, sir.
Thanks for watching and sharing your view
Oi!! I can get you a permanent visa to Dubai that can be fast tracked into permanent residency! It's beautiful and near perfect in Dubai!! You'll never have to complain week in week out like you do of Lagos and Nigeria 😂😂😂😂😂 👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!
