i bought there walk behind trimmer mower 2 years ago and the motor locked up on me they sent me a new motor on it i mean in the old motor i put the right amount of oil in it and the motor still locked up i hope you have had better luck with this then i had with mine

Do you have to Prime the carb AFTER it is warmed up to restart? I have a new YG1650 and after it is hot and I turn it off to empty the bag. Most of the time I have to Prime it once to restart, do you?

Lemme tell ya something. STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING CALLED YARDMAX! I bought one around 5-15-23 and used it only about 5-6 times. It is made with extremely cheap components. The plastic knobs for closing and locking the handle broke off. The height adjustment broke off. The front wheel broke as I was using it and the axle came out off place. The plastic for the undercarriage cracked in two requiring its complete removal. That cover the belt and pulleys for the self propel assembly. Needles to say, that can no longer by used. Surprising no engine issues (yet) and it will cut serious grass-provided you have patching up skills. THIS POS IS CHEAP FOR A REASON AND YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR!
all of that in 5 or 6 uses. Hard to believe.

There’s an emulsion tube under that top screw on the carb stem that comes out and can be cleaned. And the pull rope is supposed to be oriented towards the carb side of the mower. It’s a beast of a mower if taken care of.

How many carborators are hidden in that grass? I see about 6 used mowers buried in that pasture. This is bushog territory.
You tipped the machine muffler up instead of carb up. Doing so will dump oil into the carb and air filter
well if I were going by the TM I'd elevate to a height that does not require tilt, any tilt results in a negative. A 15-minute settle is an adequate amount of time to let fluids drop back and ensure a fluid level of less than 10% in the cylinder to prevent hydro lock. Side note oil in the carb isnt bad the amount is, i run 36:1 premix in ALL my machines so oil is already in the carb.

I gained my mechanic license in the 90s so I use the old ratios on all my motors except cars (36:1) new age mechs starts a (40:1)

I have yet to buy a part for it, but in my experience, the cheapo brands typically don't have a parts store and you must mate parts from a name brand machine, but it appears as if craftsman parts will fit, I'm not sure tho
Wow! so much misinformation. Check oil before every use. Add if necessary. 30w oil or 10w30. Don't put oil in gasoline because 4 stroke engines don't need it. Only 2 stroke engines do you mix oil with gas.
correct its not a need its extra protection like a condom. If you take apart a mower motor you'll see the poor lubrication system and how the premix oil helps cool and lube, when the angle over mower exceeds 15 degrees the oil reservoir diminishes its ability to lubricate. Ty for the info tho.
