[WR] Echoing Caves 100% Speedrun in 2:45 - Rayman 2 (PC) Individual Level
I did this speedrun after the Stone & Fire IL but forgot to upload lol. It's still easily improvable but I don't find this IL very interesting especially because I don't like the rule allowing skipping cages for 100% ILs. At least it gives me some content for the holidays I guess :p

This is a very good time because even though I lost 1s to Jesus skip and 1s to movement in the bastion I got insane RNG for the crates and most importantly in the boat.

This is a fun category extension in which we don't have to care about yellow lums, but we are not allowed to skip any mandatory level (so we do all levels except Walk of Life and Walk of Power). It maybe has the potential to get sub 1h but with the current strats it would require quite an insane run.

Decent run for this category, void was average with 4th try in Fairy Glade and 1st try in Cave of Bad Dreams, and I didn't make any big mistake.

It is possible, you just need to sacrifice one of your hand (or maybe both)
Only after this video I realised how little part of Rayman 2 experience the plum is, yet it became this important part of Rayman 3, because of just how memorable it was.
I wonder why they made it so Cages don't matter for the full game. I guess simply they assumed it was impossible to get 100% without breaking all of them, so didn't bother to calculate it for completion. Also yeah, weird IL rules exclude it too.
The logic is that 1 lum = 0,1% so cages don't matter, and that logic was translated to IL... It makes sense, but still it feels weird to skip 3/5 cages in a 100% IL

Not only a precise yellow lum route, but also a precise red lum route!
It's rather adapting to what happens (especially with kapouehs) than an actual route, but yes the health management was quite something :p
Not Bad! Once i go back to hundo i give this IL a try and might also improve it if possible. Also i swear isnt it faster to do part 1 once you go back the NMG way? Since you have gold fist, mini jano should be really fast to defeat.
From what I've timed this is a few seconds faster, but most importantly way funnier

So I'm playing the PC version myself and I've noticed the game never seems to let me use the Hall of Doors option in the pause menu to exit stages. It's always greyed out. Is something wrong?
This option was for the old Rayman 2 website that doesn't exist anymore, it's normal to have it greyed out
@torsinn Huh strange. I could've sworn you could've exited levels from the pause menu. (maybe that's in other versions?) Regardless, interesting to know.
I think it's possible on 3DS, on PC we do it in speedruns with the loadwarp glitch (we load a 0% savefile to get back to the hall of doors with the lums collected)
So is this technically a true Completionist run, since you have to get all lums AND cages?
No actually I don't have to get all lums because some levels don't have bonus stages (walk of life, walk of power, cave of bad dreams, prison ship,...)
I was impressed. I grew up with Rayman 2 and I never expected it would have a solid speedrun. Kid/teen me always thought the game was too linear and well made to have much in the way of an interesting speedrun. But this was a fairly entertaining run with some cool glitches and other tech. Between this and the Plum video, Rayman 2 is more breakable then I previously thought. Congrats on the WR!

Funny that there are some people with this kind of community that focus on old cool game liek Rayman 2 to master it. I am a fan but I only played as a kid and now I'm enojoying the old vibes through listening to the soundtrack of the series when I work in the office. It really relax me! How did you speedbeat Clark in the Tomb of the Ancients?
You need 6 normal shots to beat him, but gold fists deal x3 damage so with it I can do it in only 2 shots! And when he falls his s are just not long enough so I can hit him twice. With charged shot I could even one shot him but in any% we don't have the charge ability.

There were segments in minor parts of the run which was not that successful, but you made it.
Yes the run is far from perfect so I will come back to it at some point, but it's not too bad for a long and difficult category like this :p
