Do you use decal fix with your decals
Frickin 💎brilliant!
Those are very, very , very small bullet holes
Just right for 1:12 scale, I'd say.
Lefty. Not surprised. We’re a creative crew
Great kits, I bought 5 of them and am having a blast building and painting. I’m a dental tech and work with plaster so this is a natural for me
"fingers are a great brush"........ love it!
Dad I'm trying to make a video, whatcha need? How do I find my emails?
Dave I think it looks great it reminds me of the town that I live in it is known as the city of murals Belvidere Illinois
GREAT JOB Dave. i all so love the lighting effects. i much prefer the decals over the paper signs, so i will be ordering some for my buildings that will be started soon
Nice to see ya back with new products. Bob
Cool stuff going on, I'll visit your site. I like your decals I have used them before.
Parchment paper for wet pallets is perfect for this!
Great job and video. I am still using your custom-made decals. Consider making a video on the decal making process.
Do you make decals for g-scale
Sorry for the late reply, don't always see these. Yes I do just contact me at my website thanks Dave
INCREDIBLE detail!
I'm a recent happy customer (St. Petersburg RR). I just discovered your videos. I just ordered from Downtown Deco. Tried to mention your, but couldn't. Thanks again. I got a lot of vids to watch. 😁
That's great tip! I will have to start using those slide covers. With the tape over them you could probably break it to show a busted out window more easily. Thanks for the idea!
Thanks! Keep ‘em comin’ ! Very helpful!
Thanks for sharing your tips. Here a new sub!
That's a great idea Dave, in N scale it will look like a canon hole...lol, Glad to see you are still with us. Bob, Longshadowsmodeltrees.com
Just swamped with custom builds and no time to do much of anything but build.
I know about that, my Tree orders keep me busy, hardly get any time to run Trains.
That's a very helpful tip, thanx!
Just found your video. Will be watching all of them. A lot of good information. I've never tried this but want to learn. Do you make your own molds or do you make them.
Cheers Dave, love the tuitorial......great looking tarp
Is there a way to make your own decals, like with decal paper or something
Any suggestions for a tarp that appears to have been rolled back and/or the tarps that extend/accordion on some 18 wheeler flatbed trailers? I have an old Athearn boat that was given to me that had some of the top (appears to have been broken off) removed. I want to make it appear that it has a tarp/canvas that is not extended/rolled up, towards the front of the boat. It will be going down a river, going under a swing bridge slowly. I want to detail it and give it a very light weathering. Thank you.
I would try this same method maybe with the wire or rod in the middle to give it a little bulk and just roll it like a real trap, the stull I'm using doesn't rip and tear like wet most wet paper. It would be one of those things I'd have to experiment with until I hit upon something I liked. Hope this helps a little Dave
Will you tell me what kind of paper it is that you used? Thank you.
It's a paper I have that is like a wax coated tissue paper I use to separate decals when people get some. I have had it for a long time and have no idea who makes it or what it's called. Not sure it that helps but that the best I can do it's like a vellum.
I forgot to mention that acetone will eat through some types of plastic so check you cups or use glass to avoid this. It will eat though the cups I used but if you get it finished in less than a few minutes you'll be fine otherwise you'll have a mess.
Dave's Decals this is a good video. I like it
do you ever use a plastic press to push in your decals? I think it is called a burnisher. Your decals seem thick enough to handle the pressing
No I just use a fat thumb it gives me more control.
Great work, but....get a tripod and place it over your work area. That way we can really see what you are doing. Also way too much talking. More doing, less talking. But, again great work.
The camera is on a tripod If I did anymore doing than I do I'd fall out.
how long does it take to ship your premade decals (in the united states)?
Sorry just saw this they ship generally next business day. Thanks Dave
Glad to see you back at it!!!!
Dave, your decals look and seem super awesome. I model in o scale and look forward to trying these. A big thanks for the how to videos. That helps a lot to us newbies that never tried using decals. I probably wouldn't of bought your product if I hadn't known how to apply these. Thanks again!!
Thanks how you like the product and if you have questions just let me know.
I will be traveling back from a show, my wife freaks out when I watch videos on the road. 😉
Don't tell her, say it's navigation or you can catch it later as it will live forever on the internet.
Just a tip. If you tape your flimsy paper to a piece of cardstock it'll go through the printer easier. Where the tape just barely catches the edge of the paper. Kind of like if you print on fabric, adhere it to the sticky side of a full sheet (8.5"X11") address label and send it through the printer where the fabric will be printed on. Then remove the fabric from the sticky label. Then you have to seal the fabric with something. Thank you for the tutorial. It was just what I was looking for.
HAHAHA!! "Hey it's Daves from Dave Decals"
Great Dave, thanks for sharing. I'll be using your method some day.
Dave, do you have a video showing you wired lights and made the awnings? Thanks
Sorry for the year delay in answering this, no but I'm going to do another video and add more info.
@@davesdecals4690 Hey, Dave. Did you ever make the video that you mention here with the awning construction? Enjoyed watching your videos here.
Love your channel! Can't wait till my decals get here! I always wondered how these shabby buildings were actually done and where to find the decals! I really want to make a lighted sign like you did......that is so cool! Thanks Dave!
Just stumbled on to your channel. Loved the Mamma's decal episode. Great work. subbed.
They all want something for nothing....sometimes they think we are doing this for free. Bob, Longshadowsmodeltrees.com
This is one of the "Best" product of the Model Railroad Market, easy to use and go's on so nice......they take weathering real well. I love his decals. Bob, Longshadowsmodeltrees.com
Thanks Bob
Great tips Dave. I was curious about what hydrocal looked like. I'm just getting back into the hobby after 40 yrs
