she looks tired already. thats why its better to learn the right way.
Elle est trop dure quand elle danse....
Too slow and too much underwear for me :(
Her underwear is showing.
Thanks that explains it. We also have crazy or funny dance in my culture it is hilarious. Cheers
XD , je connais tous ces profs!! M.THOULE-HAY , M.MAUTIL, etc... XD J'adore!!
This is why all the people talking crap have no clue about shaking - the origin and the evolution thereof. Majority of these people watched a couple of tahitian dances and think they know what it is! lol! You will understand that shaking changes with time - with rules, with theme, with story, with teachers, etc. Educate yourself before you start talking about something you really only understand on the surface....
"Grâce" :)
@christyanntudela LOL. You still haven't proven anything. Each island has it's own style, only competition has rules. Freestyle will never be subjegated. Toodles.
@christyanntudela True, but your arrogance is duly noted as well.
@AtheaTahiti Thank you. Interesting performance.
@christyanntudela 6 years? I stand corrected. You are definitely an expert and you have "schooled" me at nothing. Take your 6 tyears and compare it to 20 years then come back and tell me a thing or two.
@christyanntudela You state that the dance isn't Tahitian, and I stated that your name is Tahitian. now what?
@christyanntudela Then quit hating. Clothing has everything to do with my comment, but not with your comment. Last I checked, folks were not wearing the latest in fashionalbe attire until the Christians came.
I love how none of us who comment were born in the 1700's, yet several of the commentators here act like they are experts on kahiko or ancient (original) movements. Firstly, there were no sewing machines or looms available to the Islanders. Secondly, the young lady's Instructor is right there. So quit hating, and stop dividing the dancers. The American tradition of telling people what to do is just about over.
LMAO. The dance is good. Christy Ann Tudela, your name isn't Tahitian either.
this is tahitian... but its VERY VERY VERY traditional and was taught a long time ago. i know this because my halau is teaching this to my class now. so dont say it isnt tahitian. just dig deeper into the culture....
@christyanntudela thanks for your explanation, it shows that he knows enough of the subject.
@Loli3M bet you cant do better (: lmao i bet you suck
Bad :|
very nice dance, thks for sharing!!!!
Excellent. Very good moves.
@rauhei04 ah enfin au moins toi t'a compris!! merci de le dire :)

@lovetelo bin au moins elle elle danse !!!
@temaheiarii et alors?? sa t'gêne!!!
To each his own. I liked it.
Meh, this is okay, but you like more like a stripper or pole dancer. Especially 'cause you keep flashing your underwear. If you competed at a big competition in So Cal you'd have been disqualified. Also, near the end it doesn't appear very Tahitian and looks a lot like a pussy cat doll
Wow, must've been hard to dance on the sand, I mean it is already hard as it is to dance tahitian....You danced beautifully, I guess the old fashioned tahitian dancing is finally making its come back, just dance and keep smiling, you're already a beautiful girl!!!
@zcretangel I've had my shares of fights and arguments here on YT, and I know how easily it is to be misunderstood or seen as rude...and since it's the Internet people don't care, and are much more evil than they'd be if they would talk to u face to face, most of them haters are hidden behind a screen lol I hate when I know people are wrong and u try to convince them other vise, not easy XD btw what's ur kumu's name?? ^^
@Gille87 we have also those who are ''traditionalists'' and those who believe that a dancer is not limited to rules, but are free to express them selves the way they want, bc besides being a cultural dance it's still art, and since pre-colonial time, they dance to tell a story what they wanted to tell the viewers;) That's what I love about this dance, even though there are ''rules'' on what's proper, there are always room for new movements, and new ways of expression!
@zcretangel Ia Orana;) I'm glad u replied, it shows ur a good person! And I understand ur point of view and where ur coming from...the thing is, what is really proper ori? the dance has evolved a lot since our grandmothers time, and the conservatory put names to different moves and that they should be done in a certain way, but every part of Tahiti has it's own names on the movements, so it depends on where ur from;)
@yannahz7 lol don't really care! ;)
@yannahz7 so u say that one should look like crap just bc it's a cultural dance? ever heard about natural makeup?? U cans till where make up, but not looking like ur going out! And u never see different colored undies with groups like Tahiti Ora, Tamariki Poerani etc!
@zcretangel if u dance ori ur self, u should know how to respect the ori, and the dancer, wether it's not ur cup of tea or not! I know u guys dance differently in the US, but no need to be rude!
@AtheaTahiti Ia Orana and mauruuru roa for explaining the way of the ori;) I know many who dance ori in the US, see how it's done in tahiti, they think it's vulgar, but thye don't understand that ori is not just a routne to win 1st place like they do in their fete or Heiva, but as a cultural dance, it also tells a story, and when done like that, it's a true tahitian ori;) My favoite dancers are Moena former lead dancer of the Les Grands Ballet, now lead dancer for tumata's Tahiti Ora;D
Pierrot de Rapa, excellent choix, elle est vraiment une Oulala Girl. Bravo monsieur le directeur d'école de Rapa.
Bravo Rapa, Bravo Tamariki Oparo et bien sur BRAVO PIERROT!
In Tahiti solo dancers are never an individual show. They r part of the band, 1 of their best dancers & they have to reflect the theme danced by the group. This is Tamariki Oparo from TuhaaPae islands. Well known for their "crazy dance" : U just let go, forget all the steps & so-called rules & move, goin wild. Every1 just laugh or not. This is not the way she dances, this is how she's supposed to dance expressing the theme.
You guys this is Tahiti where it all began. I bet they know what there doing...they do not dance the knock-off tahitian that we dance here on the island or the mainland, so what she had panties that showed my mor'e fell off! check out the real vids from Tahiti they all dance the same!
quel belle femme
@gicleeartist me stupid kare.... wot its tru pro dancers wea same colour undiez as thr pareu.... fa r u stupid or wot.... toe tunga e koe
le rythme n est pas facile , mais c est beau , au moins c est pas facile ,
@hinahere All south america, specially Cubans and Brazilians can do better than that !!!!!
