Wrap in an engine bay
Removing some over 4 year old vinyl wrap from in my engine bay and adding some new color wrap. How does vinyl wrap stand up to heat over time ? Perfectly fine.

Thanks man , was able to fix on horn by charging and following your guide ..
Great video. I see you put two ways in the front. Are they ok as is or would it have been better to use components? I just got an e46 vert and will be looking to swap the audio system so I was curious about the two way coaxials. Thanks.
Component speakers would sound better than coaxial. I went with coaxial for cost and because I don't have an amp since it was flooded. If I was using the factory amp, I guess you could just hook to the factory speaker wires and not use the crossovers. The coaxial speakers do sound better than the factory speakers, and the Bavsound.
@ thanks. I figured as much since the tweeters on the coaxial would be pretty low.
Can you do this if the entirely wrong bolt/lug has been forced in?
In my regularl job, sometimes I have to tap or retap things. It's possible, but it doesn't always work. You can try, and if it's your front hub. It's pretty easy to change. The rear hub is pretty hard.
Haha you guys are so cute Makes me wanna wrap mine with my gf
If y'all are a happy couple, don't let her help you. My wife has helped me a few times now. She is never happy about it while it's happening. But she loves the results.
Thank you kind sir !
can’t believe i didn’t think of that, just lost my brand new one on the interstate lmao. doin this to the new matte ones i have. cheers 🎉
I've luckily never lost one, but they have wiggled a little more than I wanted them to. Had a few broken clips through the years. A zip tie through the back has been perfect.
Great information 👍
holy thats a good looking car, the headlights and the lip and the lip struts are sick. do you have a brand preference for vinyl?
The dark blue that's on this car, is also on my other car with another blue that are both Vvivid premium, and i really do like them. I've used bad Vvivids before though. I do like KPMF. The Avery Dennison i used is really thin and expensive, but it's easy to work with. All I can really say is if the vinyl has a white sticky side, it's usually not good. If the sticky side is either gray or the color of the wrap, it has been good.
Good video. Does this empty the cooling system? I mean can I just replace the sensor without replacing the coolant?
With a cool engine, you won't lose a drop.
@KrisO1976 thanks👍
Please get a tripod so we can see the ‘in between’ bits
I'm getting a little better. Also, finding out the Sony camera I bought isn't best for this kinda stuff. But I'm going to try to get the camera a little deeper in the engine bay next time.
could you have used the new speakers with the factory amp or no?
Yes you can. Lots of people do. I just don't have the factory amp anymore since it was damaged in a flood. It will sound a lot better with the factory amp. Just wire new speakers in to the old speaker wires and you're done.
can you lock roof down with alen key method ? mine stuck open
Yes. Once you get the roof closed, or close to it. If you turn the allen key to the locked closed position, the latches will grab the roof and pull it shut.
u still have your e46 ?
I still have both of these cars. They just look different. Different wraps now.
Hello thanks for the video i am. Wonder if u can provide me a pic of the hydraulic pump wiring mine only open first quarter and can hear the pump in the trunk working ..thank u in advance
Thank you ver much 🙏🙏
Hi friend! When you had this problem with the airbag clock, in addition to not having a horn or steering wheel controls, did you have the airbag fault on? Thanks!
A bad clock spring doesn't throw any fault codes or lights. It just causes all steering wheel controls to no longer work. The main cause of an airbag light is the sensor in the passenger seat.
my engine stays at 65 degrees and doesn't ever reach optimal operating temperature, 2 thermostats changed thinking it was it, but it didn't fix the problem. Could it be this sensor?
A bad sensor could be a problem... BUT, if you have an automatic, there is a little thermostat under the expansion tank. It breaks in the open position, and that would be my first thought. You have to remove the expansion tank to get it, and it will break when you take the tank off anyway. Buy one before you do the work, because auto part stores sell them for around $100, but you can get them online for less than $20.
@ i have manual
Where did you find a brand new clock spring for $20??? OEM goes for $300+… need to buy one and I think used ones risk not being centered correctly
@thedogpack2014 aftermarket. Type in E46 Clock spring on Ebay and lots come up.
Thanks I appreciate it!!!
Sorry Kris, didn’t mean Chris. Amped up for you getting my Maroon 69 SS 396. Coast resident and only my 2nd CTC with my 52 year owned car. Thanks.
3:39 driving by ? It's to bad I didn't get to see it a bit more parked. I may have came across it at another spot. CTC is my favorite time of the year. I used to have a 69 Bel-air, but currently no classics, but I'm still around every year.
Thanks Chris 650, got my Camaro at the 13:39 mark , great vid and sound.
How can I get ahold of you I have questions
I have had mine now for 5 years. I will admit i sometimes use it to bush hog when i want to add more to my yard. In those five years I have went through 3 or 4 sets of blades which I find normal for my cutting. I do agree the OEM blades are way too much money for how long they last. I get mine off Amazon now for like $35 a set and they last as long as the OEM blades. I have had to replace the center spindle assy. I guess i did not set the star into the spindle notch very well one year and it wore it down flat. Again for $25 on Amazon you cab get a complete assy and 10 minutes later you are off an running. Plus the aftermarket brand has a grease zerk fitting in them. I have had to replace the front deck hanger, but that took me about 5 minutes. I have to blow up my two front caster wheels at least twice a year, they seem to pop off the rim. Again I properly cause that by the way I cut and what I cut. I have the Kawasaki 23 hp engine, service it once a year and it still purrs like a kitten. I have changed the battery once, the wife left the key on over the winter, Now I feel like I have gotten a great mower for the price. Yes, I have had some problems but I use it and I feel it is something no out of the ordinary to me. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate this mower an 8. The only down side I have is no matter what I do, it always seems to leave a small streak in the grass. I have checked the air pressure in all the ties, the blades are new, just weird but I can live with that. I would recommend this mower to any homeowner. I would not for the commercial grade cuttings but it is not advertised as such i do not think, not at the price you can get it for. I think you bought one that was not setup correctly by the seller you bought it from.
How do i get notified where the next one is
Cruisin the Coast is the first full week of October every year. Look at a calendar, find the first Sunday in October, and there you go. You can google Cruisin the Coast and go to their website also.
I have a 2001 330 CI. I was going to do the struts by myself this time and I had no idea that the bolts for the rears were inside the convertible housing. All the videos I was watching, showed that you had to remove the trunk liner. Perfect timing for me, thank you.
The coupes and sedans, you have to remove the trunk liner. They made it easy for us convertible owners.
Thank you! It was nice to know and gather all the tools before beginning the project.
I have a lot more little projects to do, and I hope i can be straightforward and helpful going forward. The work is easier than making the video for sure.
"oh shit, i just cursed online" 😂😂 thanks for the video! This gave me a lot more confidence before working on my new to me 2004 e46!
I been having nothing but E46s since 2012, and this inline 6 has been pretty easy to work on and, realistically, very reliable.
@@KrisO1976Okay but what were the symptoms, how did you know they did to be replaced, does it throw a code when the injectors are bad ?
There was no problems, codes, or symptoms. I changed my injectors, just because it's a 20 year old car. I really like my car. Sometimes I just do maintenance. I didn't have to change them. I could have cleaned them just as easy. But why not just replace 20 year old parts. I haven't had an E46 break down on me in about 12 years.
@@KrisO1976hey can you please tell me these fuel injectors have treated you since installing them specifically? I ask because I’m in the process of buying some to get my E46 back up and running and I saw these at a good price on A premium website but want to know if they are just crap that’s gonna go back two months later. Hope to hear from you soon before I have to speculate and pull the trigger on some. Thanks man
@King_DTA A premium mislabeled their injectors. The 325 and 330 don't use the same injectors, so before you buy check the past numbers. If you have a 330, the fuel injector part number is 13537546245 the Siemens injector is part number 1439800. If you have a 325, the part number is 13537546244. Siemens part number 1427240.. Other than that, I haven't even thought about them since I changed them.

@kris hey havin same issue with my top and probably need those gears but the link you got up is not working anymore is there a part number you could throw up or maby a new link by any chance plz?
I just googled E46 convertible latch gear, and from what I can tell, it's part number 67618370816. But just looking up E46 top latch gear brought up a few. Amazon, Ebay, etc.
that color is crazy
Gloss Liquid Metal Dark Blue for the lighter blue and Ultra Gloss Neptune Blue for the darker blue.
My convertible top motor that’s upfront is really loud, any idea what causes that? Do I need to replace the motor or some kinda lubricant will help? Great video thanks 🙏
When opening the top, the front motor makes a noise that I can't really describe. I'll make another video soon. The gears in the motor are under a screwed on cover and should have a little lube on them, but I guess these cars are old at this point. The long worm gear could probably use some silicone spray lube.
@@KrisO1976 got any videos on how to remove the screwed on cover?
were the previous threads and screws M12?
Yes.. factory lugs are M12

@@KrisO1976 are you my dad?
I always wondered if i had another kid out there. Could be. I was a hoe back in the day.
Oh the purpose of the solar generator is that you can run your refrigerator after you lose power while the storm is still tearing everything up outside. It will also allow you to turn off your generator for 4 to 8 hours per day if it looks like you're going to be without the ability to get more fuel for a while. Also a solar generator allows you to carry 1000 watts of power around the house for things like electric razors, lighting in a back bedroom, etcetera.
I hope to one day get some solar panels and batteries. I recently moved to where I am now. Hurricane Ida put 2 foot of water in my old house, destroyed a few cars, etc. Afterwards, insurance where I was went up to $15,000 a year. Soooo.... here I am now where my insurance is about $3000 a year. Hurricane was to weak and to west to do any damage this time. I didn't lose power, but there are a lot of trees near powerlines around me, so it will eventually happen.
@@KrisO1976 I recommend you start with 400 watts portable panels in a 2000 watt battery backup pack. Pretty cheap on sale, it's a great way to loan power to friends and family, it's really useful when you first lose power before you can set up the generator safely. My thousand watt battery and panels cost $780. They have already paid for themselves in saved food. Plus it just feels good to run my window unit for about 2 hours and 15 minutes on hot summer days. While it is directly only 30 cents worth of electricity, it causes the central air conditioning to run less and that consumes 36 cents per hour worth of electricity. Today, the setup with 2000 Watts and panels runs about $250. During our last disaster, we went 4 days before we could get propane. The battery and panels helped me make it all the way until propane refills became available again.
@@KrisO1976 oh, and the wen been a great generator so far. I'm at about 300 hours. It's so easy to start with the electric start key and I don't have to clean all the gasoline out after usage when I use propane. Don't forget about the dual regulator though. They cost about $50 and they save a lot of hassle. You can even change the empty tank for a new full tank without turning off the generator as it runs on the second tank. Or you can let both tanks run to empty and then put two tanks on it and you're good for another 20 to 26 hours.
@@KrisO1976 Hopefully, you'll never need it. 🙂
Great video by the way. Thanks for making it.
I use a wen 4750 and solar panels and a 1000 watt battery. Next year I will expand that to 3000w or 4000w. I also bought a 60 watt baby dehumidifier. If you get your propane tanks filled at u-haul, you can get 4.5 lb which will run them over 12 hours a piece. Then if you buy a dual regulator, you can go 24 hours between tank changes. You have the option of multiple tanks or buying a 30 gallon tank for your backyard which will have to be refilled professionally. I own six tanks. Remember that you have to change the oil at least once a week of continuous operation. Some people recommend changing the oil every 24 hours of operation but I have just topped it off. These generators are so inexpensive that I'm not going to pay $6 a day for oil in order to extend the life of the generator from 1,500 hours to 2,000 hours. The benefit of 1000 watt generators is that you can run a single window unit on them very inexpensively. Well I am spending $30 a day on propane, a person with a small generator could spend about 6 dollars a day. Smaller generators also have the benefit of being very cheap so you can have one of them as an emergency backup for your main generator in case it breaks. It's best not to use gasoline unless you are a very precise person who's going to clean it up when you're exhausted after power is restored. Also, I am unable to run the Madea 8000 BTU on my win generator. It trips the GFCI circuit. This is a known problem with problems in the GFCI circuit standards and inverters.
Attempting to manually open my 2004 330CI top. I am unable to get the tonneau lid to open. I think something is wedged preventing it from opening. When I opened it, there was a crunch. I think the back panel from the headrest somehow pulled off as it is now missing. I was able to close as normal but now will not even manually open the lid.
I have a 28b6 code. Bmw e60 m54. It runs a bit rugh, happend right after oil change
