Maybe the rock in the Bible is the golden rule: to treat others as you would have them treat you (Matthew 7v12) ? The first Eddystone lighthouse near Plymouth, England, was built on rock but knocked down by the great 1703 sea storm. If you built a house on low lying rock it could still be knocked down by a river bursting it's banks. It isn't necessary to build houses on rock, most of the houses in the world aren't built on rock and last long enough. Ok being built on rock would prevent a sink hole opening up under your house but wouldn't avoid an earthquake if you lived near a fault. If a house was built on volcanic rock then the volcano could erupt and lava engulf the house. The strength of the foundations isn't the only consideration but also the building materials for the walls and roof,. The foundations might be rock solid but the structure could be blasted away by a tornado or burnt down by a bush fire.; Avalanches and mud slides could knock the house down no matter how sturdy the foundations. You could spend too much time and money trying to establish better foundations than required and as a result not have enough money for the rest of the structure. I think in engineering there is often the idea of building as strong as necessary but using as little materials as you can get away with, build in a margin of error.

I can't imagine what she feels everyday when she thinks about her child. It must be difficult to live with. Missing his first years where everything is so sweet. Why would any one inflict such a pain on himself.

I am amazed that only a Remnant of believers have commented on this topic. I believe that within my lifetime(68 in 12 days) that the Lord will return for His Body the Assembly. The number 8 is significant of "New Beginnings" Noah and his son's and their wife's were the new beginning after the flood. Eternity is a long time! Make sure you are in Christ awaiting the Trumpet of the Rapture.
