It sounds like you’ve heard some things or experienced high insurance? Not being on the coast we have he least expensive insurance of all of FL! Our life is a dream. My parents have built here on the north side- Marion Co in The Villages and have not lost their power in 21 years! My husband and I have lived here 3-1/2 years and can say- even with Hurricane Milton coming through - not even a flicker. All I can say is - here in central FL, in The Villages, The Infrastructure here is wonderful. Even with the tons of rain that dumps in seconds, not even a puddle an hour later! It a blessing. Insurance companies know the difference in location.

I’ve been visiting The Villages since my parents bought here over 20 years ago, and have lived here with my husband for 3-1/2… I’m sure being that there’s 150,000 residents, you can find anything you may be looking for… but most things heard that are bad, are rumors! If you have no family nearby and don't have good neighbors

The Villages is known as America’s friendliest home town, so hopefully you’d have plenty of neighbors that could alert you. The Villages also has community watch and they have ambassadors that drive every single street 2 times per day. Mostly they are looking for things out of the ordinary. We have a neighbor that didn’t get his newspaper for two days (from the driveway), so they stopped and knocked on his door to make sure he was okay. You could also hire a property manager if you wanted. Thanks for asking!

Amenity fees are $195 per month. This includes access to executive golf courses, swimming pools, all recreation centers (and activities) as well as maintaining all the common areas. Additional land fees may be for a bond for newer homes- that helps pay for all the infrastructure. Let me know if you have any more questions!
