It's so much easier to hear the German anthem in this version. Listened to an 8-bit version of Deutschland and the beginning is literally the same as here. Those Scots really know how to make a good diss.

This song was originally sung in a German language as it is a song of the Teutonic Order sung by its knights. The crusades were a very interesting time!
