If you Google "bss private boat requirements" you can download a big PDF which details all of the testing criteria. I'm not aware of any reason why the window location would cause a problem - I think in general, testers tend to pick up more on small detail, such as correct rating fuel hose, suitable fuel cutoffs with clear labelling, etc. They also check ventilation fairly heavily, so might flag an issue if the heater has effectively moved from one cabin to another - possibly requiring more or larger roof vents. You can usually replace Webasto fuel pumps with cheap chinese equivalents for not much more than a tenner off eBay. If you fit a chinese heater, they're generally fine, but replace the entire exhaust with a proper marine one (ideally, Webasto or Eberspacher) as the supplied ones are lethal. You'll need one CO detector in any cabin with a fuel burning device fitted for BSS. Personally, I'd run two, as they're relatively inexpensive and CO poisoning is the leading cause of fatalities on boats. Blue continental fuses are 25A so you want a clear blade fuse in place of the 15A one.

2:59 the white fuse mentioned is a "continental" fuse. It has long been recommended to remove these from boats (at least as far back as the 80s), as they had a tendency to set fire to their fuseboxes - especially those with clear plastic covers over the fuse. Best to replace with a blade fuse holder. You can get nice ones with blown fuse indicators for sensible money these days.

In case you weren't already aware, she was formerly "Golden Treasure 2" on H.E.Hipperson's hire fleet in the 1970s. Quite a few yards had similar boats, ie. Summercraft had two Gala Girls built off the same hull. The hull choice was slightly odd - it's a Classic 27, which was originally an offshore powerboat hull - but it makes for a decent handling boat with a reasonable turn of speed even when fitted with an old BMC 1.5 or similar (IIRC, I think they generally had hydraulic drive). A couple of the original powerboat models used to do high speed sea trips out of Littlehampton. I'm a bit puzzled by the throttle control and whining noise in the video. What engine and drive is she currently fitted with?
