"CEASELESS" - A World War One Short Film
CEASELESS (written and directed by Charlie Stackhouse) tells a fictional story of an act of compassion during WW1. Inspired by some true stories.
In the midst of a mission to stop a devastating trench raid during the First World War, two British soldiers (Harry Burke & Tom Samuel-Davidson) undergo a test of their humanity when they unexpectedly capture a young German soldier (David Brückner). True motives are revealed, their friendship is tested, and lives on both sides hang in the balance.
Winner of "Film of the Year" (2022), presented by Samyang Lenses at the University of Salford | Nominated for "Best Drama" at the RTS North West Student Television Awards | Semi-Finalist for "Best Student Short" at the London International Web & Shorts Film Festival.

Excellent Short Film. Very well acted. Great storyline. And yes, things like this do take place during wartime and on all sides. A Testament to Man's Humanity towards his Fellow Man. Should give us all hope that someday Wars will no longer be the First Resort but the Last.

It’s called “Ceaseless” and was written by my brother for this film along with all other featured music. We are actually still planning to release the soundtrack on streaming services, so I will come back here to let you know when that happens :)

Ok ok - I am sure that most, if not all the various parts of the film probably did occur somewhere in the war. But the very begging got me. That was A LOT of very specific information the officer had. and given the imply he expressed, he send two guys out somewhere, between the lines. Who then apparently have an open fire going. With a prisoner who’s only bound by a loose rope that anyone could just slide under or stand up?
