Recumbent bodily support (arthritic, etc.) IS ACTUALLY needed for many of us aging bicycle lovers! This senior handicapper can only ride my Hase Lepus now, but I do still, SO love a Brompton!!!

Wheres the front chain ?

My dream build. I wish I had the skills to do this. I think a front wheel drive would be ideal but a boatload of complexity. You need to mate the cruzbike drive train to the front. The cruzbike q45 is an ugly folder. Cruzbike could turn the t50 into a quick disassemble bike with couplers. Not a folder but small enough to fit a standard suitcase. Sigh!

how would you compare this to a Hase Kettwiesel for getting groceries or off road?

You rode from home using rail corridor?

You look like you are enjoying riding, but I have a Slipstream and have hated it from the beginning. I tried to return the bike the first week but they don't take returns. So my advice to anyone enamored by the appearance and novelty of this bike is to be sure to try-before-you-buy. The cost of these bikes is HIGH for what you get. The Slipstream is terrible on hills, very heavy, and just all-around cumbersome. It is a novelty that gets noticed, but my experience is that almost anyone can find a better option, better components, and even more comfort with other conventional or recumbent styles of bike. My $.02.

Nice conversion! I'm slowly working on my own folding recumbent bike. Plan to start with a Brompton frame and build from there. Glad to see that a Brompton with a recumbent seat rides well. Do you have any steering issues with the new CG location or cargo stowed high behind the seat? Fyi, multi-speed bicycle chain bends sideways fairly well. Just need 40-50cm on each side of the bend for the chain to twist 90degrees. The HPvelotechnic Grasshopper folds the chain sideways.
