Just thought I'd give a couple of tips for new drivers starting out on the Cx regarding pricing that could save you a few pounds if a job takes you over the Dartford bridge/tunnel or any other toll. Make sure you add that to the price. And if you have to travel say more than 10 miles to a collection then add a few pounds to cover your fuel to get there. Sometimes adding the fuel cost may not work especially if there's a lot of drivers and little work.

Is the 2150kg dry weight or does it include fuel,oil,washer fluid , adr kit (and your lunch ) ?

On 99% of our jobs, asap means exactly that. Immediate as soon as possible delivery.

Very close to the San Starko (Raith Rovers) when you were at Morrisons. Angus Lennie (from the Great Escape film, and from the Crossroads tv soap) used to live in the high rise flats that were behind the bush & tree when you were standing in the Morrisons car park.

Not everything is mega urgent, I wish shippers would put the time it needs to be delivered.

Well said, I've been on the road now 2 years and done 1000 jobs today from start Always have a clean van, the right clothes, and kit in the van Got good shippers that pay right but had to work for it it doesn't come easy .Bristol based if going to London make shore good pay thier and have a plan on what going to do for the rest of day some times stay out but work price in to it Gareth Gyc couriers

When I sub jobs out I always ask for photos and pod then it gives my customers confidence it's been delivered to where it should. Take it easy with your back

I don't want photos of goods up against a wall or some random forklift with a pallet. Hard copy pod signed and print. I stimulate no photos but brains dead Abdul can't read and upload all sorts of shit. They then won't get used again because can't follow simple instructions

Also amazed how some drivers don't take photos or have any blankets or straps in their vans. The Pod is done as soon as I've delivered the item with full name. You can also email the pod to your own email address and print it off if needed.

As we know it’s so easy to photograph items collected and delivered ,I also supply a pic of the consignees sign above their premises. It safeguards me and my customer, I can’t understand why rocking horse brain, drivers don’t do it when it’s stipulated ?. Sorry you’ve been poorly old chap, I find 50 push ups before I start work helps……. Not !

The Reality of cx 😂. Dont sign up unless you have your own customers basically. You can make money as a cx driver but at a massive cost ie your time and health takes over all. Typical day on cx start bidding at 7am might take 3 hours to get a job you do 4 hour to 15hrs drive for £200 maybe £300. Might not get a job back and have to sleep out. Then massive running cost on top, works out 15hour days if your not working you are looking for jobs constantly. People seem to forget that CX is a platform for people already in the transport or courier game and the rates are back load rates. but people like to take it a step to far and do 300 mile journey for £50 just to get home.... But at the same time can be good travelling around the country and having no commitments.

EH1….what a pain. I find it easier to walk that route 😉

I share your frustration with middle W&n£e£s , I seem to recall that one of your YT buddy’s was lambasted for doing the same. Like the rest he thought it was perfectly acceptable, but had to concede to keep his viewers happy. Where’s the droneshots ?

Had another terrible week. I'm sure it's worse than last year on the Cx. I tried staying local in Brighton for a couple of days and only managed 2 jobs on Wednesday then on Thursday it was the same. Lately I've been going to areas where there is usually work but can sit waiting for well over 2hrs and nothing pops up going back down south. Plenty of work goes northwards towards the big cities. It's like playing chess with a different player every day. You never know how you're going to get.

Hi , would you recommend the c x to anyone as I've seen a few videos of people saying it's not that good . I'm in Yorkshire and thinking about setting up as it looks like the perfect set up for me being my own boss but slightly worried about all the costs as I would be starting from scratch , any advice would be great fully received

Great video Neil, I’m glad you got your van fixed and sorted by the dealer. Sadly every pound is a prisoner these days, shippers don’t care about offering 60ppm as long as they get the work done. Take care and take money!

Had another bad week down on the south coast. I just can't get my head around it. I can bid on jobs I've done before at the same price and still not win them. Every time I've been to Ipswich it ends being the best days pay.

Hello Neil, i'm glad that you don't have to pay for that gearbox repair and that Mercedes have come good on that one (so they bloody should!). I'm in my mid sixties and i'm semi retired. I keep working because I love my job, and i have known my regular customers for 20+ years. I use a med wheelbase Vito van. Its my 3rd Vito, and although i now only do 25 to 30 thousand miles a year (due to my semi retirement) my previous Vitos covered 80 thousand miles a year with me as the sole driver. I was employed full time whilst driving those vans and the company would sell them at the 3 year point bevause the mercedes warranty would run out at that point. Every Vito that i have had (2.2 litre Mercedes engine) has been an extremely capable van, with very little down time. I just wish that they weren't so bloody expensive to buy! Great video as usual Neil...love your content....keep those wheels rolling 👍

Work seams to have slowed down this past week for me on the CX ,previous week was my best week to date ,up and down .

Sorry to hear about your back playing up Neil, glad you’re getting your poppy back on the gearbox outlay. The bids are weird with no understanding at all, I picked up a 125 mile sv job yesterday at £1 pm ! The guys that say “pays” usually pay a higher price in my experience, so are trying it on. I got work quite easily this week so no complaints. New van is a big improvement too !

Your van looks so well looked after and great news you're not having to pay the bill, I can take a guess on the shipper but TH-cam comments aren't that place.

If you had a service,and the oil was low,dealer who did the service should pay.

Merc dealer rip u off stay away from em .my sprinter was under warranty foe 3 years soon as the 3 years was up never been back to mrrc

Remins me of Merc doing a diff oil change on my Sprinter....which had no problems...until they did the oil change...then magically within a few thousand miles it needed a new diff..luckily still under warranty

I had the same issue with my Old crafter really got annoying I did the same just a slight adjustment sorted it. GREAT VIDEO PAL 😊

Heilo Neil, With regard to the gearbox oil level. This is something that you cannot normally check. The dealer should have deffo picked up the cost of the 'repair' I would certainly follow that up. Great video, love the drone video too 👍

That’s not right with the gearbox, the service centre should be picking up the bill for that. Has firkin freight ceased trading? I saw they applied to be struck off companies house. I had no dealing only know of them fromthe yt videos.

I told you to make sure you get extended warranty with those vitos. Mercedes not what they were. I mean what had the oil level got to do with your gear shifter? If that's case then surely they would top it up job done. No way would I have that wouldn't of paid a penny towards
