Thanks for the video. I've been collecting since the 1980's and beginning to notice that the crowd and myself is in thier sixties now! I'm afraid there is no interest in collecting radios today among the younger generation. My interest was in the really antique radios of the spark gap and 1920's. Most clubs back in the 1980's was from that era. Then the meets exploded from antiques to vast collection of ac consoles,mass produced bakelite, transistor and novelty radios. A lot of books written boosting these radios but I see year after year of our club diminishing and more good consoles going to the dumpsters. Our club has merged with the ham club which now brings in some interest but guys we are all getting pretty old and my wife will not go anymore to avoid a fight to bring more radios home that I like and she hates. As a word of advice, I think we should all take our wives and kids here and buy them a small working radio,novelty radio,cb or lp player and stereo to get them interested. Teach them how to fix them and learn soldering. There are still some am radio kits you can buy. Or better yet take some parts from the meets and show them how to make a crystal or 1 tube radio.Remember the excitement in radio was and still is really building your own and learning about tubes and antennas and getting it to work. I got interested when as a kid a neighbor filled my wagon with all kinds of 1920's radio gear. If we don't get the kids interested, I'm afraid most of us radio collectors will be on the Hoaders program with a psychologist asking if you can part with just one radio. When you let one go they pity us as mentally disturbed as they dump our collections in the front yard and then the dumpsters.

Thank you for the video. Funny - Amateur Radio operators are known for looking down upon and belittling CB Radio operators and yet at nearly every hamfest or swapmeet there is always a lot of CB gear offered for sale, both new & used.

That seems more like a store that has an old "Radio Shack" sign outside than an actual Radio Shack store. Radio Shack only carried their own brands of merchandise, not the brands that are sold here.

They’ve got some interesting stuff in there, but it’s not a Radio Shack. There’s no Tandy or Realistic branded stuff. Radio Shack used to be a good place to shop because they had their own brand of unique products that you couldn’t get elsewhere.
