Thinking about gettin a 3sfe from pick n pull and rebuilding it on the stand, then droppin it in my 88 camry. It burns a lot of oil, deq almost failed me for visual smoke but i guess i revved it just the right way for it to not be visible in that moment, haha.
U might try valve stem seals first.
I had my high pressure power steering hose burst on my 1994 Geo Prizm LSi and my mechanic refilled the system with power steering fluid. I never thought anything about it till my car starting leaking all over my driveway. I never realized that these cars need transmission fluid in the power steering resevoir or else they will leak. You are the only person on TH-cam that mentions this fact. Where does it leak from? the rack or the resevoir under the hood? Mine is slinging it all over the engine bay because when you open the hood it's splashed all over the underside of the hood.
Yeah, I know. For Toyota, only T-Fluid in the PS.

hiyaz. Your video portrays the reality of the task at hand, and I appreciate that. My 91' camry is chuffing and loosing pressure in the 1st cylinder. I believe I have a burnt valve. I still drive it 60 miles a week. I love this car, but the thought of all that work and money makes me reluctant to do anything until the last moment, where repair or scrap is necessary. 213k miles.
Yeah, not really worth all the work of this type of engine change UNLESS it's an All Trac perhaps. Sorry for your loss.

I have one virtually identical to this one but not in as good of shape interior wise. Do you know how sturdy the AWD system is? I’m not sure how much abuse they can take. Mine had no service history with it.
The transmission is same as 1mz Sienna other parts probably equally tough.

Yep, came out of an almost mint 1986 Celica GTS with 52k on the odo.

Did you get this car with good rear struts or did you manage to find some that fits? I'm asking because i have this car but cant find the right struts for it.

The gear linkage is a little rough. You kind of have to reach in and put it in neutral manually. Also, the ignition switch/key, tires, and that seat are bad, of course.
