Both machines sound great, but depending on the type of music your playing will determine which machine you'd use. I don't think one is better than the other, as long as you're using them for the correct music style. I own the rd8, it hoping to get the rd9 ASAP. Great comparison, thanks. Bless

Is it just me thats really annoyed that the sequencer buttons are stacked ontop of each other, than in a single long row like all the original xox sequencers.. The reason people actually love the original 606/808/909 sequencer isnt because of its functionality, thats bare bones as hell, its the fact that its super intuituve and easy to follow the lights when the sequence is in one row.. This is the reason I didnt buy the erica sequencer, I tried it and didnt like it, this will be the same so ill pass..

Mine arrived next week i sell the erica drum sequencer due to the lack of a real midi implémentation so the midi io on the rs9 is crucial for me to record the midi session and use it as midi to cv trig converter to feed my techno system iso for the price the rs9 is unbeatable so i buy a pamela pro workout to complete it and make a great combo 😊

Arrived today, first i absolutely love the look. Its the drumsequencer i always wanted, actually since my first 808 in the 1990s. A TR drummachine surface which allows me to live program patterns, jam (solo/mute/"rolls") and trigger a combination of a multisample drumset on a sampler like bitbox (or anything non eurorack) via midi and drum modules or envelopes on eurorack. The quick start manual covers everything but i could jam like described half an hour after unpacking without a manual and that included changing the midi mapping and i have absolutely no experience with midi. Awesome module at unbelievable price. If you want something with "modular spirit soul" buy a ground control or erica drum sequencer at five times the price of this. I would have prefered it as a standalone unit with a powersupply. Will try to make that myself if its not too time consuming.

Ich kann Dein Gemecker nicht ansatzweise nachvollziehen. Ein leider komplett eindimensional sinnloser Clip! Die Farbe greift genau die 909-Ästhetik auf, die Bedienelemente auch. In meinem Nifty Case ein Traum. Aber gut, dem Herrn gefällt die Farbe nicht... Ich mache schwarze Module wenn's geht, mit Folie gern weiß, weil ich schwarz nicht mag - was jetzt? Und ja, funktionstechnisch ist es genau das, was ich mir gewünscht habe. Endlich life meine Hexinverters komplett intuitiv und auch mit fat-fingers-syndrome sicher ansteuern, während ich die Module selbst tweaken kann. Ich habe mich dermaßen über diesen Verriss geärgert - Du glaubst es nicht. Mag sein, dass Du mehr auf Elfenstaub und Einhorn... stehst. Dann gib gern € 700 oder mehr aus. Für's Volk, das hiermit sehr komfortabel die flexible Drum-Maschine seiner Träume bauen kann, ist dieses Teil der Inbegriff der Demokratie. Und ich kann Dir sagen, wie (im Vergleich) blöd sich Drums live mit dem Steppy steuern lassen, der mich € 70 mehr kostete und nicht die Hälfte kann. Du kommst mir in diesem Clip vor, wie ein Gen-Z-Kind, dem man den A nicht mit ausreichend Zucker vollgeblasen hat. Schmeiß Dich gern auf den Boden und strample vor Wut. Wird vielleicht besser. Mir hast Du jedenfalls ein Stück der Freude an diesem komplett klaren, 110%ig praxisnahen Modul und dazu ungemein günstigen Stück Technik versaut. Schade!

I really hoped Behringer would sort modular out because it's a hot mess. 12v 8v 5v random volts. It's a crap shoot whether one module will talk to another, even within the same company. I bailed. I might consider it again when all the little workshops can work to a protocol.

Come on, moaning about colours and comparing this thing to modules that are 2x or 4x the price is as rediculous as your mask. It has some quirks, yes. But on the other hand it is a nice performable sequencer and me, my Eurorack and my Vermona DRM1 are having a lot of fun. Of course some things like accents should be addressed in a future firmware update but at this price point it is a no brainer if you have the rackspace.

One legit point I feel you had is that Behringer should think about their interfaces instead of just copying. Why not pull it to 2024 and add features and/or replace stuff that's a pain to use with the original gear they copied it from. Apparantly other users are fine with it...

I think you hit a good point, even though I kind of disagree with a bunch of what you said. Behringer doesn't take risks or do too much originality. They're too safe. I think it stems from their experience with the Deepmind 12. It was loved by the press and reviewers but nobody bought it! So now they only put out copies and clones and don't even bother to add any upgrades or QoL tweaks that could benefit the customer.

Are channels 2 and 3 independent of both 1 and 4 channels? they are using input and output seperately.. lets assume i put signal input in channel 2 and will that control rise and fall or cycle also?

You forgot the accent outs that could have been so much more. Just racked mine and i'm still wondering what i could do with 10 accent outs when there is only global accent. Also you need to put the accent level all the way down in prefs to only have triggers on the accents. Now the accent outs are just a copy of the normal triggers with 'hotter' triggers on the accents. Wish they would make the CV the (only) accent out and make the 10 accent outs, recordable CV outs. We need a new firmware 😅

I totally agree with what you say, but if Behringer released it w/ said updates surely were talkin' 250-ish at least. Even if that was it's still cheaper than a lot of the more modular meaningful drum sequencers. I cannot wait for this, for me I am planning my 1st live rig & being so accustomed to my MC-307 for 25 yrs this is right up my street. Simple patterns pre-programmed running a cheap 8x 2hp drums format & 2 trks with samples. I love that Stolperbeats thing but was reluctant to buy it. 🤔
