Greetings youngman from the Great Sioux Nation in South Dakota. Traditionally our teepees were made of buffalo hides and the teepee belonged to the woman. It was always the womans job to set up and ready the teepee. Also in the winter we put up what was referred to as a liner. A liner was another set of buffalo hides which were attached to the inside of the poles which made the teepee double walled if you will. That and have buffalo robes and bear robes for blankets it was plenty cozy inside a winter teepee. Nowdays our teepees are usually made of canvas which works well, I have a 20 foot teepee myself and its plenty room, I used to break BLM wild mustangs when I was younger but give that up. Hope the info helped you some. Its good to see a young person enjoying the outdoors, its an important piece of our being. Stay out there, have fun and adventure, very good job! My local creek ALL my life was an average of about 3 ft deep, 6-10 in the deep holes. About 3 years ago our fish an game commission came up with the bright idea to make ANY type of dam on the waterway illegal. An then went down the stream destroying every single natural an unnatural dam. Since they did this the water is an average of about 1ft deep. The fishing which was once absolutely amazing is now not even worth the time. In the summers the creek almost completely dries up, when before it held plenty of water year round.
