Its fine to use the tracers to know where your shots are going, it is arcade so you wont run out of ammo. But keep in mind the red circle forming around your aiming point, if that makes a full circle the gun oberheats and jamms. The solution is using shorter bursts, see that moment where you were shooting way behind the plane during a turn? If the reticle is behind the enemy plane there is just no way you could hit it, use that time to let the guns cool down instead
Short bursts and your gun won't jam. If you do that in realistic you'll have to fly back to base. More accurate in smaller bursts too.

Brother! You want to use short but accurate 2 to 4 second bursts, and put your reticle on the very front of the lead indicator. You'll find you get much better, more reliable hits if you shoot that way. I've been playing war thunder since 2016, I remember when they added tutorials, naval battles, and the entire japanese tech tree. Nice kill! Enjoy the low tiers while you can, it only gets more difficult.
