Used to be all beautiful golden dunes down there, until they began messing with the sand retaining 'defences' and started to install sea front roads. Talking up to around WW2 era sortve time. Who remembers the active pier, then the Golden Goose?

Born & raised on the Wirral. Always enjoyed the view across the Dee to Flintshire, North Wales, so it’s lovely to see this again. Thanks for posting this.! My parents lived in Parkgate from 60’s to ‘82. My husband and I visited the Old Quay in’70 & 76, and I really admired the interior decor themed on Nelson’s famous battles. Is it still the same I wonder? Most good things have come to an end, sad to say. There are (were) no shrimp in the world with the utmost, delicious, flavour of Parkgate shrimp.😁🇬🇧🇨🇦
