There’s no way they didn’t buy that ref. Doing that while they’re rolling is one thing but in the middle of executing a submission hold? And then the Gracie just rolls it into a dominant position like nothing happened instead of at least having the honor to stand up and start fresh. He should have had it ruled a no contest if he has any honor but standing up was the least he could have done. This is almost as disgraceful as Royce using his belt to choke Ken Shamrock in UFC 1. It’s hard to believe that after all these years the Gracies aren’t more widely known for what they really are.
