The whole idea is silly. If you slow down the recording of crickets if will have a different sound but it will still be crickets. I can slow down a recording of myself talking but it will still be me.

Crickets do sound slightly different in different climates. I have only heard tree crickets sound like the ones in your recording samples, ground crickets where I live sound like the one in Jim's recording. Interesting how many variables there can be to night sounds.

Nah you did a terrible job disproving this theory but another I want to point out is that when doing anything scientific, you have to fully mimic the research, and you didn’t.

I'm not sure you've really disproven anything. First of all, supposedly crickets sing different songs for different reasons (ie: mating call, etc.), so your first example may not be comparing apples to apples. Secondly, why did you slow down one of the tracks to 10% and the other to 14%? Not exactly scientific.

It seems you skipped several speeds and several seconds and went straight to the lowest speed and then claimed debunk. You lack comprehension evidence.

Why would you spoil this for everyone!

That wasn’t crickets! It sounded more like cicadas or some other insect. You just can’t accept Truth.

So, just what have you accomplished by your debunking of this? What do you have to offer that is as uplifting. I feel sorry for you.

There is always people who try to spoil what has been beautifully discovered. Some will never believe will they?

Crickets? That sounded like more than only crickets you recorded. Crickets chirp. And with more deliberate breaks and patterns. Not just a blur of noises from the woods at night. Not saying your discovery doesn't have truth in it, because it was clearly some sort of combination crickets with an instrument of some sort. But, let's hear actual crickets, like outside someone's window or in their garage, and then slow those down. This could get interesting, I think.

Was the original recording recorded on tape? If so, seems like wow and flutter would play a part in the slowed down version. But I’m guessing you didn’t consider that.
