Robert Merrill on Major Bowes 1936 & 1939
Here are Robert Merrill's Major Bowes Original Amateur Hour appearances. In 1936 he appeared as Merrill Miller and sang Torna Surriento. He did not win. Three years later he returned as Wayne Mills and performed Largo al factotum. He won this time.

Adib Fazah in I Puritani, Montreal, 1987 The great Lebanese baritone Adib Fazah on Canadian television in 1987.
I sang with Adib in 1982 in Stamford and you were there, Joe. He was a great baritone and singer in general.
I have a copy of that performance and also have some excerpts of his Tonio in Stamford in 1983. Hope you are doing well.

What a wonderful baritone and delightful colleague! I sang with Adib many times over our years together at New York City Opera, including PURITANI, CAV/PAG, TRAVIATA, THE STUDENT PRINCE and so many others. I was Marullo to his Rigoletto in Connecticut. I first sang with Adib in 1980 in DON CARLO with New Jersey State Opera. Thank you for posting this wonderful souvenir. I hope Adib is enjoying retirement.

What a phenomenal singer...His Germont in Hartford 1979 was breathtaking. There is a complete Rigoletto from NYC Opera in the mid 1980s the audio is so-so but the singing is miraculous. A very nice man to work with as well
@StephenWall l I would love to hear that Rigoletto. I'm singing it in 2022. I'd love to use it as a learning tool.
@@MarkLCottonBaritone I have his Rigoletto from Stamford CT in 1982...recorded it myself....not bad audio considering it was 1980's technology. I also have the NYCO Rigoletto from 1984.
