ASE at Bodiam Castle | Join us in the finds processing tent!
Castles, ducks, and archaeology 🏰🦆⛏️ What more could you want?
#Bodiam100 is the first of three digs leading up to Castle's 100th anniversary in the care of the National Trust.
Join us as we excavate the previously under-explored landscape, with UCL Institute of Archaeology staff and students, Hastings Area Archaeological Research Group, and the Wealden Archaeology Group.
We’ve been processing the artefacts on site so that they’re ready for further archaeological investigation, and showing our findings to visitors 🔎

This paper examines the Iron Age salt working evidence from a large developer-funded excavation undertaken by ASE at Pocock’s Field, Eastbourne. It discusses what we know about the salt-working process and why we may be missing some elements, like in situ hearths, while we clearly have other salt-working features like settling tanks containing huge amounts briquetage. It examines why so much co...
