    Great video mate. They need to show your example of not paddling back out through the waves and getting in peoples way at the safety briefing. A lot of people don’t get it or don’t listen. The free two hour parking you can do over and over again. When your two hours is up, drive out and then drive back in again and grab another ticket for two more hours of free parking. I’m a regular at URBNSURF Sydney as well, hope to see you there sometime.

      @SurfingWithEd หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks, mate! Indeed-so many people don’t listen and paddle across the open face of the wave, disrupting others’ rides. I’ve had plenty of waves ruined because of that. Appreciate the parking tip! Hope to see you out there sometime. Cheers!

    Great video, very informative and useful. Any comments about the water temperature? Cheers

    • @SurfingWithEd
      @SurfingWithEd หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey great question, I should’ve added it in the video. The water temperature at URBNSURF varies by season: Summer: Low-to-mid twenties (C°) Autumn and Spring: Mid-teens C° Winter: Low-to-mid teens, sometimes high single digits C° During Summer the water temperature is quite pleasant. However, during the winter it gets really cold and I had to invest on boots and gloves to be comfortable and wear a 4/3mm wetsuit. If you don’t wear boots and gloves your hands and feet can get numb haha it’s that cold.

      Thanks. I'm looking at a March trip, and will bring booties and gloves just in case. Do you also recommend bringing my own board? Thanks again for the review. It is the most intuitive I've watched. Most others are quite superficial or talk about boards they tested

    • @SurfingWithEd
      @SurfingWithEd 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@docmartin5375 Thanks mate, I am glad you enjoyed the video! In March you most likely won’t need booties and gloves. If you can bring your own board is always the best as you are already familiar with it. You can rent it from URBNSURF but they might not have the specific board you like, usually they have a wide range of boards. Good luck on your first session 🏄‍♂️

    Yeah it's different out in the Ocean you don't have markers to take off from not every wave is the same as you know but stik at it,it gets easier

    • @SurfingWithEd
      @SurfingWithEd หลายเดือนก่อน

      For sure! I see the wave pool as a skate park for surfers but it will never replace the ocean.

    Do you know what the best dimensions are for urban surf on advance session

    • @SurfingWithEd
      @SurfingWithEd หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey the best dimensions for advanced turns will depend on your skill level, height, and weight, just like in the ocean. However, since wave pools have less buoyancy due to freshwater, opting for a board with slightly more volume tends to perform better and makes paddling easier.

    How much do they charge to film your session?

    • @SurfingWithEd
      @SurfingWithEd หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! URBNSURF uses Flowstate, a technology that automatically tracks all your waves, recognizes your face, and bundles the footage together. After each session, you can visit their website to purchase all your footage for $25 if you’re not a member, or $20 if you’re an URBNSURF member.

    This was my first time surfing the Advanced Turns setting at URBNSURF Sydney! I’m not an advanced surfer (as you can probably tell, haha), but I decided to give it a shot-and wow, I discovered that this is the best wave on the menu! I haven’t tried the full Advanced session yet, where the setting changes to tubes halfway through, but I’m not quite there yet, haha. What I loved about this wave compared to the other settings I’ve surfed (Intermediate and Progressive Turns) is how the wave maintains its size and power almost all the way to the end. In contrast, the other settings tend to lose their energy pretty quickly. If you’ve been surfing the Intermediate session and feel comfortable with the takeoff of the second half. I’d definitely recommend giving this a try! The takeoff on Advanced is a bit steeper, and the wave packs more punch, but it’s nothing too intimidating if you’re ready to progress. I fell a few times but never hit the bottom-such a relief! I wore a helmet for extra safety since I didn’t know what to expect, and I’d recommend it for anyone trying this for the first time.
