Not seeing that John. How is an earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsing a fulfillment of Rom 11:25-26 with no mention of an earthquake or the completed time of the Gentiles? Rather, this Scripture in Romans will be completed upon the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, as they look upon Him whom they have pierced and mourn over Him.

@@billhenry13 In Rev 11:13 it says seven thousand were killed and the rest gave the glory to God. This is the opposite of 1 Kings 19:18 where the Lord said he reserved seven thousand who had not bowed their knees to Baal and destroyed the rest.

Hello Robert, While I appreciate your reply, I do not see where the "Scripture" says what you are saying. We do not need "other knowledge" that you seem to point to, yet give no biblical references for- that is called gnosticism, and has been around for a long time- and is incorrect teaching. Yes, we try and look at historical and cultural evidences to help us to understand the Scriptures- but, they never can change the meaning of a text as much as you seek to do here. And, it would be interesting for you to provide such evidences as you point to, and what sources you are using. Simply put, you are twisting the Word of God to make it sound good to you, and perhaps to others- you don't seem to like the biblical fact that God does choose, even while He has also given mankind free will. The simple truth is the Holy Spirit breathed through Paul here (and in many other Scriptures) and He means what He says. Yes, God has created certain vessels for wrath- He clearly says this within the passage, and even gives Old Testament examples of God doing this- to deny this or add onto this is a dangerous place to go. Paul's main point is not to overturn what was taught in the Old Testament, but in pointing to the fact that "who are you oh man to question God"? Paul is teaching here that God is sovereign and we are not- that the Jews were not saved simply because they were of Abrahams flesh and Jewish- but that those who believed in the Promises that God had made to Abraham were truly his children. Whether we like it or not, the Scriptures clearly teach that God chooses (including choosing some vessels for wrath)- and- that He has also given mankind free will- this is indisputable within the teaching of the Scriptures- to deny either side is to deny and/or twist the clear teachings of the Scriptures.
